Overall Satisfaction with WellSaid Labs

We use it to create narration for our training courses. It saves us time by not having to record our own voices or edit them.

Pros

  • variety of voices and accents
  • ability to customize pronunciation of certain words
  • easy to use UI

Cons

  • pronunciation can still be a little odd at times, requires trial and error
  • needs better customization of pacing, emphasis, etc.
  • UI can be a little cumbersome when using beta customization features
  • drastically cut down on time required to create courses
  • making changes to scripts is much faster than before
  • some people are still a little bothered by the "robotic" sound at times
very easy to understand and use for someone new to using these types of tools.

storyline 360, Rise 360, Camtasia
Anything that requires narration is a great use case. Although WellSaid does a great job of creating more realistic sounding voices, its still not perfect if you are looking for a very authentic sounding voiceover.
