Overall Satisfaction with Workday Workforce Management

In my current role, I use Workday Workforce Management as a centralized HRIS solution to manage end-to-end workforce operations, including time tracking, attendance, and leave management. Additionally, I utilize the platform for full-cycle recruitment and to generate data-driven HR analytics and reporting. I use it daily. The most value comes from the platform's option for complete audit trail of every time entry and hiring decision, making it easy to respond to audits or internal reviews.

Pros

  • Offers compliance & Audit trails - essential in my role
  • Robust reporting capabilities
  • Time & Attendance Tracking for large teams

Cons

  • The Mobile App is almost impossible to use
  • The notification system is "too much" and proves inefficient
  • Custom Reporting is heavy and requires in depth understanding of the data set, making it hard for less experienced individuals to benefit from it
  • To correct time entry data, for eg. you need to go thru several steps, making it time consuming.
  • The Recruitment module - data flows directly into the worker profile, onboarding right away. It has saved my cost center nearly 5k/hire.
  • Defined audit trailing has significantly improved costs for my department - as we are now compliant and "fee-free" with the Department of Labor.
  • Admin burden has been shifted away since using Workday - although I don't have an exact number in mind, overall admin costs have gone down year over year.
I would give it a 8.5 - I am proficient with using the platform and it proves useful to me personally, however it has proven hard to train other individuals on its usage and functionality. The UI interface gets time to get used to and feels overwhelming for a new user. This makes it difficult for me to fully delegate certain reporting capabilities. Additionally, if not exposed to it often one can easily loose momentum and has to restart training.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM
  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM
  • Rippling
  • ADP Global Payroll
I have used Oracle HCM in the past and loved its analytical capabilities better. Easier to train on as well.

Are you happy with Workday Workforce Management's feature set?

Yes

Did Workday Workforce Management live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Workday Workforce Management go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Workday Workforce Management again?

Yes

My organization has centralized HR functions within the Workday platform, specifically utilizing the Time Tracking and Recruiting modules. This integration allows us to maintain a single source of truth for employee data, which we then leverage for complex HR reporting and organizational analytics.
I couldn't be successful in my role without it as we operate with fairly large set of data and we onboard a fair amount of employees on a quarterly basis.
