Overall Satisfaction with Zscaler Internet Access

Zscaler Internet Access is being used as interner trafiic monitoring system and network security system in our organization. It detects the malicious content and websites and automatically blocks the access. It acts as a proxy server and all the network calls from the system go through Zscaler Internet Access. It is highly customizable which enabled us to block certain websites which might hinder employee productivities. The best thing about Zscaler Internet Access compared to similar solutions like "Sophos Endpoint Protection" is that Zscaler Internet Access takes very less bandwidth and hence doesn't hinder the performance of applications that need to communicate over the internet.

Pros

  • Automatically block the malicious content and websites
  • Scans inbound and outbound network packets
  • Has a proxy server through which all the network calls pass through
  • We have customized Zscaler Internet Access to block websites like Netflix, Hotstar etc which can hinder producivity

Cons

  • Improve the startup time. There is noticeable delay when windows is booting up
  • Provide a way to easily use tools like Fiddler which we use for API testing. Currently Zscaler Internet Access, because of proxy server blocks Fiddler
  • Sometimes, the Zscaler Internet Access consumes more CPU resulting in slower computer performance
  • Zscaler Internet Access gives confidence and piece of mind about your overall network security
  • Over the last 4 years , since installation, Zscaler Internet Access has saved us from many network threats, so I would say we it is the best thing out there for endpoint protection.
  • We largely depend on Fiddler or similar tools for our work, so Zscaler Internet Access was a bummer for us in the beginning as it impacted the way fiddler worked. We have overcome that issue around but it did slow us down for a while.
Ok. I am more of a Cloud Architect so I have not personally installed Zscaler Internet Access in the user machines. But as per our system administrators, Zscaler Internet Access is very easy to deploy on multiple computers remotely. It is very easy to setup and very easy to customize. The notification and reporting are very intuitive.
The biggets problem with Sophos endpoint protection is that we found it very slow. I mean, all our applications, in fact the OS itself appeared to run slower because of the heaviness of Sophos. This is where Zscaler Internet Access shines. It is very light weight and doesn't even make you feel like it is running in the background.

Do you think Zscaler Internet Access delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Zscaler Internet Access's feature set?

Yes

Did Zscaler Internet Access live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Zscaler Internet Access go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Zscaler Internet Access again?

Yes

Best suited for medium and big organizations with 50 or more computers. In fact I would say it is mandatory to have Zscaler Internet Access as using other solutions like Defender or Norton, McFee either do not provide such a complete protection or lack performance. For individual users and small companies, it will be costlier.
