Overall Satisfaction with Zscaler Internet Access

We use Zscaler Internet Access as our proxy solution, you cannot access the internet without Zscaler Internet Access. We use it to enable features like Browser Isolation and to do proxy chaining with other network tools. Zscaler Internet Access offers a plethora of solutions like SSL Inspection, URL and Cloud App Control and most importantly customization of multiple PAC files.

Pros

  • PAC File Customization
  • Logging and Analysis
  • URL and Cloud App Controls

Cons

  • We have to use Thorsen sometimes to verify our PAC file, would be nice if Zscaler Internet Access had its own built PAC verification feature
  • I think is some policy configures we are limited by either the amount of users we can restrict policies to and I think that can be a little frustrating when you have a large organization
  • Positively speaking, Zscaler Internet Access has protected users from various websites that are uncategorized.
  • Positively speaking, Zscaler Internet Access logs have made incident response very easy to tackle
  • positively speaking, Zscaler Internet Access' customizable PAC file has made dynamic request easier to respond to
I love Zscaler Internet Access, the support, the UI, the functionality, the dedicated partners. I am easily frustrated so I find it refreshing to have a vendor that is truly dedicated to problem solving and security. The hardest problems sometimes takes weeks to months to solve but it is always a consistant and non-aggressive/lazy approach.
I am not involved in the evaluation and purchasing process. Actually I was hired a way afterward but I do know that every now and then someone comes in asking us to evaluate another vendor and, in my opinion, they don't compare to Zscaler Internet Access.

Do you think Zscaler Internet Access delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Zscaler Internet Access's feature set?

Yes

Did Zscaler Internet Access live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Zscaler Internet Access go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Zscaler Internet Access again?

Yes

Zscaler Internet Access is well suited for large organizations who want to secure network traffic for their users. In my organization specifically we often run into two issues:
1. Everyone thinks its a Zscaler Internet Accessissue, when in actuality its a firewall or VPN issue. So instead of Zscaler Internet Access being a L3 concern we are a L2 concern sometimes L1
2. Every issue is unique, this adds a lot of stress to our team especially when it comes to meeting our SLA. However Zscaler Support is super hands on when we run into these issues.

Zscaler Internet Access Support

Zscaler's ZIA support is quick and knowledgable. They respond within 1-2 hours of you submitting your ticket. They are very thorough and are typically ready to jump on a live troubleshooting session. Our ZIA platform and how we use is it unique so at times tickets can be open for weeks but we alway get quality support compared to other unrelated product support in our enterprise.

Support cares about my success
Quick Initial Response
None
I was not the purchaser for the product but I assume we did based on the level and quality of support we receive. Support is quick and hands on and our Technical account manager also keeps an eye on our tickets as well. So it is likely that we do have premium support.
Yes - Yes and the bug was resolved in a timely fashion. The bug was that in our whitelisting policies for URLs, adding a filepath cause the entire list of URLs to delete. We informed Zscaler and they guided us on recovery (looking through audit logs) and helped us determine root cause through an in depth RCA.
Zscaler has been hands on with every single case we have opened, there is too many stories to choose from, but our most recent one took about a couple months (not entirely due to Zscaler but just with the bandwidth and scheduling constraints with the subject matter expert). The Zscaler engineers worked constantly on the issue with us and helped us finally pinpoint the route cause. It was a victoriously relieving moment but we appreciate the long term support given by Zscaler.
