It works great and as expected. The user interface is simple and scales nicely to smaller screen sizes. I have zero complaints. Many of our customers place their orders and manage their accounts from the mobile interface, and we know this because our customer/order statistics tell us this right in the dashboard.

Pretty good as far as I can tell. No customer complaints. While it lays out the product detail information differently, it is still there for customers to access if they wish.

I think so. I know that my store works pretty well on mobile devices, and I do not have to create a separate "mobile store."

For customers the mobile experience is good. The site is quick to load, even without using AMP that BigCommerce now comes with, and the checkout is very easy for customers to use on mobile (or tablets).
In the backend, managing the store, it's quite difficult (next to impossible) to do anything, even on a large phone such as iPhone Max or Plus devices. BigCommerce is working on an iOS app, currently in beta, that enables managing the store on mobile and is much easier.

BigCommerce is fully responsive out of the box and was the first e-commerce platform (to our knowledge) to implement Google AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages), a Google-backed project designed with open standard to have pages load quickly on mobile devices. Whilst Google has never officially stated on-site engagement as a ranking fact, but there is data showing a correlation and positive relationship between on-site engagement and SEO ranking

If by mobile interface you mean a responsive design. Our site translates perfectly on smart phone and iPads with just a slight tweak to our HTML to compensate for some customization I made that shifted the appearance.
