We have been able to save not only on VM's costs but also because it is easy to use and manage we have saved on developer time and resources.
We have saved about $1000 overall on the costs of our VM's. Ones the sites are configured, there is not need to constantly monitor them and we save time as well.

A lot of the time our Linode account sits empty, and we pay nothing. Then when we want to test something, we can spin up several VMs that in some cases would cost thousands with other providers paying on a monthly basis, but instead we configure them, test then in a day or two and delete. Very cost effective for short term trials.

Otherwise for longer term use, I'd say it is competitive, but nothing particularly special cost wise.

TCO is one of the reasons we stuck with Linode. A good balance between performance, flexibility and cost. This trifecta is hard to get right, but they seem to be able to maintain it well.

Another factor of the TCO, is the tooling to work with, are all industry standard. This makes a difference, since no upskills or reskilling needed. If someone can work with Linux, they can work here with little overhead. Hence, finding the appropriate skills are easier, the architecture is standardised... it all adds up and makes them a hard to pass service offering.

I'm not really sure what this means. I'm happy with their services and it's very good value for the money. Although I never had to use it so far, their backup service gives me peace of mind and is very cheap. My Linode bill is about $30 a month, so that is negligible.

As they portray, Linode offers fantastic services and support at affordable pricing. We have been using services from multiple providers, but see Linode to be most true to their promise of providing top class service at low price. Our TCO at Linode is almost 40-50% less than other service providers we had worked with.

They offer fantastic value for money. We’re more of a software company than hardware, so having to buy servers, set them up, and maintain them is not something we need to do. Linode provides the infrastructure and we set up the servers how we want. I’ve been using them personally and professionally since 2009, back when 384 MB instances were common.

It is indescribable. During this pandemic time, scaling up and down as the economy shifts has been phenomenal. And being able to do it during the lockdowns in New Zealand - and being able to actively respond to market demands has been a godsend. Firing up a virtual machine and deploying it quickly - and just as instantly taking it down, and only paying for what we used, has helped the business immensely.

We are using some very lightweight front-end applications, and with Linode, we are able to run that at a very low cost. At our previous provider, we had to have more hardware for the same type of application, which resulted in a higher cost. Compared to our earlier provider, the reliability is great.
We have also decided to move to a Managed DB which has reduced the time of maintenance considreably.

Before we started with Linode, to get the precision in deployment we needed, we were colocation physical hardware, for the most part. We started dabbling with AWS, and quickly realized that the cost with them was prohibitive for what we were getting out of it. Linode came on our radar a number of years ago, and after a few trial deployments for a number of our smaller properties, we were convinced. Migrating to the cloud server from our colocation was one of the best decisions we made. Much beefier hardware for a quarter of the price of a colocation can't be understated.

Linode provides what I need and is very affordable. The good thing is that VPSs can scale easily both getting bigger and smaller, and we only pay for what we need. We can spin up an extra machine if the need arises and shut it down when we do not need it anymore.

Linode stands out as a provider of exceptional high-performance cloud infrastructure, catering to a multitude of needs across various domains. Throughout my experience with Linode services, I've encountered minimal to no issues, reflecting the reliability and robustness of their platform. One aspect that particularly impresses me is the competitive pricing offered by Linode. Despite delivering top-tier services, their pricing remains reasonable and competitive within the cloud infrastructure business landscape. This affordability ensures that businesses of all sizes can leverage Linode's capabilities without breaking the bank, making it an attractive option for startups, SMEs, and large enterprises alike. Moreover, Linode's backup services deserve special commendation. The backup solutions provided by Linode offer peace of mind by safeguarding critical data and infrastructure components. With reliable backup mechanisms in place, users can rest assured that their data is protected against unexpected events, ensuring business continuity and resilience. In summary, Linode excels in delivering high-performance cloud infrastructure solutions coupled with competitive pricing and robust backup services. Linode has worked out significantly cheaper than its competitors, over the total lifespan of a deployed solution. Not only hosting cost, but the simplicity of the management console and low cost of transferring data to another server in the same data centre has meant that I have spent less time maintaining our systems on Linode than I would have needed to with other providers.

Linode is price competitive with similar offerings, while typically wasting less of my time by having amazing backend tools. It was great to be able to scale up and down, spin up new machines pre-configured and ready to go before this was a thing every cloud provider and their dog's provider also offered.

I switched from bare metal to Linode, so it is difficult to calculate. Like any cloud migration, the biggest savings has been time. I no longer have to worry about taking care of machines in a data center, which is a huge time and money saver. Their cloud infrastructure allows me to seamlessly run applications and services that make my small business feel like one of the heavy hitters, but for a very affordable price. Frankly, I couldn't run my business without them.

After moving most of our hosting services to Linode, we had our hosting costs drop dramatically. While AWS EC2 may have a multitude of different tiers and services, I believe you get way more for your money with Linode than a comparable EC2, while still maintaining the same speed and reliability.

Prior to our switch to Linode, we were maintaining our own hardware on expensive local high-speed network connections. Using multiple Linodes for hosting services reduced our operating expenses by at least 50%, and our technical maintenance time and cost by almost 100%.
