I used QB for my personal finances for several years. Since QB had an affordable, easy to use, business version of the software I was already familiar with, it started off with a huge advantage. Other small business accounting software packages were a combination of too expensive and too cumbersome for my needs.

Prior to selecting QuickBooks, I took the 30-day trial just to see if I initially needed it and how it easy it would be for me to set things up. After just a few weeks I knew I had to sign up so that I could have a system that helped my business work more professional. Truth be told, that's exactly when I started getting more serious about my business and took more responsibility in managing my expenses.

I used QuickBooks at my previous position and it was always easy to use and very robust. It got the job done and made invoicing as easy as we needed it. I'm not an accountant, but QuickBooks makes it so we can at least get part of the job done.

I think the product's usability from the client's perspective is the single most important factor and coupled with the vendor's reputation makes it an easy sale to the client.
