Accounting Seed vs. Foundation Software Construction Accounting

I wouldn’t recommend Accounting Seed to enterprise companies. However, Accounting Seed is the best cloud accounting tool for small and medium-sized companies that are yearning to automate accounts payable and receivable, inventory management, and invoice customization in one integrated platform.

Working as a general contractor or subcontractor, I highly recommend Foundation Software Construction Accounting. I would not recommend it for anything outside construction, but it could still be used for other businesses.

• Custom reporting seems cumbersome, but it could just be that we need better instructions, more examples, maybe some more canned reports. My company needs the ability to compare multiple years, and more than one budget in a report - we start with an approved board budget and then we reproject each quarter.
• Non profits need to print financials by restriction level - this has also been very awkward - all the data is there but I have to piece it together in an excel spreadsheet every time I want it.
• In general, the materials needed for non profits is not as accessible as it could be.

• I think A/P Invoice approval could be much smoother.
• Purchase orders should be more detailed able to be issued and easily modified and enter invoices against them.
• A/P check distribution should let you select checks for ACH payment and printed check in the same run.

There are some things it lacks, certain reports or history audits. I have to call them to do certain things-submit a ticket and wait on someone to call back instead of getting someone immediately. Especially if it's urgent. I have to wait on them to push an update-and they usually run a week or 2 later- to pull quarterly or annual tax forms.

It always works well. We've never had programming issues. Never. It is easy to customize. The system can grow with you as your business grows and changes. Being cloud-based you can work from anywhere. It is intuitive. You have all the features of Salesforce, like workflows, that work perfectly in Accounting Seed. Having that full integration with Salesforce allows you to see all our data in one platform

I give Foundation Software Construction Accounting this rating because once you learn the software and how detailed its with multiple steps to complete transactions, it is very user friendly and keeps you from making user errors.

We seldom have had to use their support but when we have, they have been responsive and actually were able to answer our questions in a simple, nontech language. You don't have to be a programmer to talk to them!

Support is usually pretty great. Most of the time return calls to tickets logged are fairly quick. Most everyone is knowledgeable and helpful.

the person from them was impatient and would make comments about we've been over this

Honestly, Accounting Seed was the only one I focused on when looking to switch from our existing program. It showed in the partner app store and stated it was created native to SalesForce. As I read through it's capabilities, cost, etc., I knew it was the right choice.

Personally,
I did not have a hand in deciding the software, but for our company is has not
led to increased productivity or made things easier. It has been more difficult
for payroll to be inputted correctly and the payroll reports for certified
payroll often come out incorrect and we need to manually figure out how to correct
the issues and get them in correctly

• The three-way POS match ensures that figures match on orders and invoices before paying suppliers.
• Capturing data on reports that are not submitted, approval times, and policy exceptions.
• Expense management and time tracking enable us to view the exact time taken to complete projects and the exact amount that should be paid.
