Centralised notebooks are out directly into production. This can lead to poorly engineered code. It is very good for fast queries and our data team are always able to provide what we ask for. It is a big cost to our business so it is important it runs efficiently and returns on our investment.

If you are a MS shop specifically, or have more generic data requirement needs from Microsoft sourced data this will work well. If you have a lot of disparate data across a number of unique platforms/cloud systems/3rd party hosted data warehouses then this product will have issues or a lack of documentation on the net. Performance-wise this product is equal to other R platforms out there.

For smaller organizations that run lean and would like to get to deploy a solution quickly. This is a solution that is easy and quick to develop. It has a good amount of customization. However, for advanced customization this might not be a good solution. I suggest experimenting with OpenAI API and then if the experimentation is successful then it is a good idea to optimize and try other LLM models.

In general, Revolution Analytics brings a lot of value to the organization. The renewal decision would be based on return on investment in terms of quantified actionable insights that are getting generated against the cost of the product. Additionally, market brand of the tool and reputation risk in terms of possible acquisition and its impact to overall organizational analytic strategy would be considered as well.

The developers are able to switch between Python and SQL in the Notebook which allows the collaboration of SQL analyst and Data scientist. The integration of Mosaic AI allows users to write complex codes in natural languages. Unity catalog has centralized the security and governance features and simplified the process of maintaining it

Easy to setup, develop and deploy. The payload for the API is simple and has all the inputs required for simple projects. There are a good number of options of LLM models to optimize for speed, cost or quality of the answers. A larger token input might improve the overall usability.

Generally support comes through the forums and user generated channels which are helpful, easy to access, quickly turned around and provided by knowledgeable users. However the support channels are not employees and the channels are often used as a way to learn quick difficult elements of R. Better design, users interface and tutorial options would alleviate the need for this sort of interaction.

I have found Azure Databricks to be much better than Snowflake for handling bigger, diverse data types. Snowflake is much simpler and better for smaller warehousing. The real time processing is much better in Azure Databricks and we have much more language options. Snowflake is more expensive but simpler to use. Both are great for different needs.

The two are different products for different purposes. But for someone who has little or no experience in R programming, Power BI would be better for starting with. Having said that, Microsoft R is built on R, thus allowing for customization of complex calculations not typically available otherwise.

Anthropic is only the best for coding and its really really expensive. So, if you're not making a coding app, I would stay away from it. On the other hand, Gemini models are dirt cheap but come with a bit of performance limitations, so i would use it for big volume non sofisticated use cases. The OpenAI API platform excels at providing best in class performance models, at not outrageous anthropic-like pricing.
