BMC AMI Ops vs. Precisely Ironstream

It is suitable when you are ready to spend a little extra for extra security, a better alerting system, and overall a system that can evaluate possible failures, make better predictions, and communicate in a timely manner. It is a great option for AI-based monitoring of systems and alerting in case of issues.

• After installing BMC AMI Ops we have got real-time monitoring and alerts during any system issues
• The system is mainly automated and helps in reducing work load and human errors
• Due to high workload we have faced slow system responses but this tool helped in optimising the performance and allocate the system resources better

• Some of the data in java (or web) is presented in what looks like the original ISPF panels. Functional, but not pretty. Keep the same info but make it more presentable
• More online help on field. Or expanded help
• perhaps an option for fewer screens for novice users

UI and UX are interesting, to say the least. It could be more user-friendly and better-looking, but it is good overall. The training to use the tool could take some time, as the UI isn't that user-friendly and takes time to understand. But it works overall.

BMC AMI Cloud and Data provides a data resiliency solution for the cloud. It is for customers looking to 1. backup their decades-worth of data stored in physical or virtual tapes to Cloud storage (AWS S3), 2. perform analytics and business intelligence to run targeted customers or campaigns on mainframe data now available in the cloud, and 3. use the data as backup/ restore copies in the event of a disaster.

• Negative: Not effective use of archive data for historical displays, it takes much time and hangs.
• Negative: The installation method through the installer is not friendly.
• Positive: CICS issues can be identified, diagnosed and fixed promptly.
• Negative: Applying passcodes is more difficult than desired.
