Dynamo Software is a purpose-built investment management platform that can support the entire private market investment lifecycle. It offers modules for CRM, deal management, investor relations, investor portal, portfolio monitoring, fund accounting, research management, portfolio management, and ESG reporting.
Pitch book was our favorite resource, until we started using CB Insights. CB Insights just has far better coverage and include very extensive private company intelligence too which adds a level of customer insight accuracy that no one else can.
Traditional research services by market and product just can't keep up anymore, in my opinion. We had to seek out who could, and our choice of CB Insights two years ago has proven to be one of the smartest choices we've ever made.
No comment as the only other software I use/ed here at Cento is Highrise, which is being deprecated. I think iLevels is another one, but that was just a demo. Can't say it was good or not, it seemed like it was more catered for bigger/heavier financial type data sets and …
Main arguments were: pricing as well as the usability. Setting up Dynamo is not difficult. Especially if you don't know what you really want. Dynamo offers out of the box views. Adjusting these is simple. Other competitiors like eFront are very customisable but need to be set up …
Dynamo Software was able to offer us a CRM, Investor Portal, Accounting Software and Fund Administration solution that we couldn't find anywhere else that would allow us to easily import and export data in Excel. Other vendors practically owned our data or there was additional …
Dynamo Software makes the most sense from a cost perspective for available offerings to our clients. The integration between the CRM, Accounting module and investor portal. We also appreciate the ability to customize the investor portal to the client's request all within the …
Transparency - we were reading a lot of hype about Bitcoin, and it was in every market sector. Those of us who remember 2001, were alarmed. But digging through to find the truth was a challenge. CB Insights provided regular, extensive data every week, more often at the peak. We are certain our own analysis was correct based on that and stopped worrying that we might have missed a market opportunity.
Its alot more Dynamic than Salesforce. It helps with CRM, investor details, investor performance, fund performance, a huge help page, customizability, etc.. Its also pretty simple to work in which is a bonus. WE use it to send out mass mailings and you can have a template that you can roll over each month so that you dont have to reformat anything. Tax documents can be delivered automatically and it just pulls information from your server so you dont need to add anything into the cloud
Some functionality is clunky: Mailing Campaigns, Passthrough Integration, Dynamo Accounting Complex Transactions. At times it seems functionality is rolled out too soon.
Onboarding of new clients for us seems a bit haphazard. We just added a new tenant with CRM, Dynamo Accounting and the Investor Portal and we weren't exactly sure what the state of the new tenant should be based on what was copied over from a prior tenant or how much Dynamo Software time or support we would have to customize the new tenant.
At times it seems Dynamo Software's terminology with relationships either isn't intuitive or is repetitive creating additional time/confusion when modifying workspaces, portal set-up, etc.
The usability is great - the user interface is intuitive and easy to learn and navigate. The ability to customize the interface both at a user level and admin/system-wide level is a huge plus. Additionally, the ability to generate custom, exportable views/reports is very useful. One piece of feedback on the custom views - it would be great if all entities in the hierarchy structure (documents, contacts, funds, companies, etc.) could all relate to each other in customized views which would enhance the capabilities even further.
No comment as the only other software I use/ed here at Cento is Highrise, which is being deprecated. I think iLevels is another one, but that was just a demo. Can't say it was good or not, it seemed like it was more catered for bigger/heavier financial type data sets and reporting, which we'd like but isn't a huge stickler or priority at the moment to be platform enabled.
