Cisco Vulnerability Management vs. Skybox Security

It works well when interfacing with Qualys VM QualysGuard to highlight server vulnerabilities, providing details on the affected packages and programs, along with solutions and links to the provider's websites, so our servers can be kept safe by quickly addressing issues. Because vulnerability scores are assigned, we can prioritize which servers to address first.

For any customer that has a complex network environment spanning globally, skybox helps manage firewall policy compliance for many vendors quite easy. It has a variety of security and network vendors that it is compatible with in its database.

• Vulnerability tracking
• Risk Meter reporting to pinpoint specific systems or vulnerabilities
• Provides vulnerability scores to see what is high / medium / low urgency

• Skybox manages compliance for firewalls better than we have seen with other tools.
• Skybox integrates into standard change management tools so change control can flow through Skybox and assist with all decisions to implement a change.
• The Skybox network map is more detailed than other management tools showing us paths other tools didn't find.

• User experience. On the first approach, it's not the simplest tool that I have ever used.
• Web-based console. In my honest opinion it's very important [to have] this type of functionality to extend the use of Skybox.
• Too many updates of the product.

CVM provides a very easy to understand and use interfaces. Dashboards and reporting are compiled nicely when risk meters are created. After initial setup of software cisco onboarding teams do an amazing job going over all areas of this software to provide best overall usability of the product. Against other tools setup and usability is at a higher standard

It is user friendly and quite easy to use. It centralizes all info in one portal and generates good reports to help you visualize and assess your change management decision

The support team needs to be improved especially in their response and awareness about recent bugs in their solution. For example, sometimes they are not aware about how to integrate specific vendors like Microsoft Azure and they still don't have answers to it until now.

We run a flavor of multiple products and CVM enhances/complements those tools by pinpointing where the vulnerabilities are at on our network. Intune and Automox being products CVM works well with when its time to patch affected systems. Tenable we used prior to CVM and its product was too complex and clunky and always had issues with asset duplication. CVM simplified vulnerability scanning and made it a lot easier to manage compared to Tenable
