Anytime you have a process that has to do multiple things, transfer data, interact with other systems, Control-M is critical. Not only does it provide the insight to what is going on, but it also lets you keep tight audit controls over access, reduces the need to spend large amounts of time tracking down issues, reduces the need to write custom "code" to do integrations with other systems and helps you better manage and track critical SLAs for workflows across the business.

If you have a lot of customers that all need to have a separate place to work in, without the possibility of getting in each other way, and you want to safe yourself a lot of work. Than I strongly recommend you Cloud director. Ofcourse, only if you have a VMware environment as your working environment. If you just have a small group of customers and you can easily handle the work that's coming from it, then it is overkill to add cloud director to your environment. In a later station, you can always introduce cloud director (so tis never to late if you still want to use it)

The good thing is that there are so many connectors available. Control-M provides lots of features, and we are using almost 60 to 70% of them. Control-M is providing us with so much capability to use during our daily problem-solving.
Most of the job creation is very simple and quick and worked as per expectations.
Testing and debugging are also very easy, and you can test multiple scenarios using temporary changes during job runs.
Log and output presentations are also very good, short and detailed.
To monitor specific job net, we can create viewpoint, which can be use on daily basis.

I haven't come across too many spots where I'm not happy with the product. Most of the shortfalls were in my knowledge of the product as opposed to the actual product. Currently we're having a little bit of an issue with the deployment of the software to the servers, but it's more of an "us" problem than a product problem. I can't really give any good examples of shortfalls of the product that I've found so far.

The add-on/extension required on the internet browser sometimes are difficult to get working at first. We've experience instances where the add-on/extension latest versions will not work and have to downgrade to an older version.
The server console lacks features and tools. For example it would be useful to have a copy and paste tool or a file upload tool.
The vCloud Director management site uses Adobe Flash, which makes it impossible to use on a mobile device.

It is one of the best solutions on the market, in terms of innovation, reliability and stability. Control-M provides security when used by the largest companies in Mexico such as banks, department stores and logistics. It has proven to be able to integrate with new technologies on the market and provide almost 100% availability, thanks to its automatic FailOver scheme.

i give 10 for technically vCloud Director nearby with use case hyperscaller dashboard, but need improvement for billing need improve for integration with AVI Load balancer, NSX T, Surrounding 3rd party example for backyup as services purposes, can be create flavor for selective Operating System and also for specific sizing and

User experience is meeting my expectations. We had a manual checklist, which Control-M Reports has now replaced, that helped us check the jobs without any issues. So, being fair with the work, the ratings should also be fair. More to come as the AI progresses; this will not only help motivate the Control-M Developers but also lead to the development of advanced technology.

vCloud Director don't have any new feature, my feeling says that vCloud Director not become primary product of VMware, if this happen vCloud Director will be terminated. VMware should provide cloud management platform with agnostic with another virtualization technology example openstack, hyperv also with hyperscaller that will be have good feature

Suppor Excellent with global support, also collaborate with Global Support, Easy to open case from desktop, Easy to maintenance support, Reachable support with a broadcom, but sadly we suffer for positioning vcloud director right now that we have to collaborate with management. So far good when i get course vcloud director but with limit country for offline class at that time not included with exam so we can't claim any certfication for that (vCloud Director). Its good if this course also available online version so we can join from any place and any time

As HA we have depend on the external DB, why don't we have HA feasibility with embedded DB. As with external DB, there are performance issues and fine tuning the DB. As if its embedded DB, Control-M it self take care of the functionality.

vCloud Director is definitely my favorite as far as cloud managers. The only thing that compares is Cisco UCS Director, but it has slightly different functionality and purpose. I understand why a lot of clients still go with vCloud Director even though VMware intends to sunset it
