Customer Focus has an excellent performance as the lead manager of sales and customer service follow-up. This platform is great for all those companies that need more punctual administration for customer requirements during the process of selling or acquiring a service. Customer Focus offers an inventory management system, order management and also offers a great CRM, with which you can get excellent results if you combine these three functionalities. This platform offers an excellent communication service with clients, which helps to create a really great relationship between the company and the client.

MIP Fund Accounting

As mentioned, for a non-profit, it is fantastic. I know there are other products out there for non-profits, many of which are exorbitantly expensive. I love how MIP gets better and better. When we were first with MIP some 18 or 19 years ago, it was great but did not do nearly what it does today. I wish I had had the time over the years to learn all the new features, but I did not. Still, I love it.

  • Grant level accounting. We manage well over 50 active grants at any given time. This system allows us to track revenue and expenditures at a grant level which enables our staff to accurately and effectively manage, monitor and report to funders.
  • Allocations module. The allocation module functions enable us to set various allocation methods to capture overhead costs and allocate to cost centers and grants efficiently and effectively.
  • Fixed Asset module. The fixed asset module allows us to integrate asset tracking and depreciation schedules that are easy to use and integrated for efficiency.

  • Customer Focus is not able to integrate with our email marketing system, therefore, it is more complicated for us to use the data collected on this platform, to be able to obtain results in our email commerce.
  • The process of setting up automated responses for clients is a bit complex. It is not the typical software that is configured in a couple of weeks, I had complications when configuring the automated responses for the clients' requirements.

  • MIP Cloud took away the ability to have multiple things open simultaneously. Now if I need to add a vendor in the middle of a check run, I need to completely exit the batch. The desktop version offered ways to have both open simultaneously.
  • The Cloud version is picky about checking duplicate document numbers during a bank reconciliation. If I select avoided check and there are two document 15's, it will only save one document. I have to go to the desktop version to lock it.
  • The Cloud version does not allow me to do my Recurring Entries. They automatically appear with a warning that they are due when I enter the desktop version.

Honestly - if we had the resources to move - we would do it in a heartbeat. We have wasted so much money on this program. I am so disappointed in this product. I am so glad that I did not install it here. I just want basic functionality - and this program does not deliver.

I find MIP Fund Accounting easy to use, but I also minored in ERP systems in college. If you are a tech savvy type of person, you wouldn't have much trouble. However, those that are not tech savvy, may have difficulty. The good thing is, MIP Fund Accounting has a help page on every single screen; so if you have questions, the help button will address issues on that specific page.

While MIP rarely answers when you call, they have never missed their SLA obligation and [are] usually faster than it requires. They jump right into the issue without 20 layers of people who barely know what program you are calling about never mind CPA level accounting issues or large setup issues.

Denise O'Malley provided training for the HR module when we added it to our system. Denise also gave us a demo of the EWS module which we were able to see that it would not meet our needs. She was very kind about and understanding regarding the functions we needed with a time clock system.

Again, I was not directly involved with the planning and setup of the software. However, I was involved in training my staff during the implementation phase. As with any software implementation, consistency of training is key and a willingness to seek out help from Customer Support helps tremendously to insure accuracy of information and training.

Sales management is based on the management of customer relationships and must be centralized so that its analysis is effective. The data that is collected must be available for the generation of statistics for decision making by the directory. This tool allows us to generate the necessary data to generate results, save time and production cost. The other products did not fit our objectives.

MIP Fund Accounting

I used Great Plains at a former job. It was also designed for non-profits. The payroll function/feature was much easier to maneuver than MIP Fund Accounting. The AP feature was comparable to that of MIP Fund Accounting and functioned somewhat the same. Which is nice. I do not know about the reports feature, as my reports processing was limited due to the job I had. Same with the budgeting features and A/R. We are a non-profit organization that wished to utilize a system designed specifically for this type of organization.

  • Better order and inventory management for my entire company. I managed to manage all customer orders in the same panel, in addition, this made it easier to meet the requirements of each order.
  • Visualization of the interests of the clients. Customer Focus did not provide detailed reports on what kinds of products or services have attracted the most attention from customers.

  • It has fit our needs exactly.
  • It is all I've ever used at this organization. We briefly tried another setup in order to integrate with other systems and we quickly abandoned it to move back to MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP).
  • It has been a big time saver at payroll time and tax time.
