Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting
I use MIP Fund Accounting to process accounts payable, journal entries, generate vendor and payroll reports. We are nonprofit for workforce development; we sponsor our clients with short training and financial help to pay for training expenses. MIP allows me to run reports to see the exact amount that we have spent on each client. In the past this was an issue being able to get the total money spent on a specific client or grant, with MIP it is easy and user friendly to run a report to get this information.

- The system has crashed on me during a couple of occasions and my work is gone. The work should save automatically.
MIP HR Management works well for us because MIP was able to help us on personalizing the software according to our needs for better performance.

Support from Community Brands
Customer Service is always available to help and to answer any question we might have. They also have the availability to log into our system and walk us through the steps or process needed to accomplish the task. If the issue cannot be resolved right away, they will take our information and create a case. If this is the case, they are good at following up and finding solutions.
In person training courses during the MIP Conferences & also online training available thru Abila University.
My staff accountant manually altered the leave hours accrual by mistake. I had to contact MIP Customer Service to correct the issue. The MIP Representative open up a case and her supervisor followed up with a solution. He walked me through the process of fixing each employee's accrual hours. When corrections were finished, all the accruals were corrected and ready to process staff payroll.

Using MIP Fund Accounting
4 - 1. The first person helping us on supporting the software is our IT guy Todd. He will contact MIP if an update is needed and contact them directly if there are any issues with the software performance.
2. We have 3 people working on Fiscal, including myself.
I have taken multiple classes offered by MIP to train myself on how to use the system. The classes and the instructors are very helpful. My preference is to do the in-person training, but I have found the online training is really good as well.
I support the controller and I depend 100 percent on MIP reports for payroll, benefits, accounts payable and accounts receivable to do my job. It is very useful to be able to run reports and play with the settings to have the system retrieve the information that I need in order to best do my job.

MIP is perfect for Non-Profits. The part that I love the most about MIP is that it leaves a good accounting trail behind.
It is easy to process reports to provide to the CFO, CEO, Board of Directors, or the CPA Firm.
My favorite part is to be able to export my reports to an Excel Spreadsheet.

I was not part of selecting MIP to use as the main accounting system for my organization. However, I do not see the company using a different accounting system any time soon. MIP is does a great job supporting our company's accounting, financial reporting and payroll needs.
The benefit of being able to process payroll and accounts payable in house it is great because it gives us more control for accuracy and to have our employees paid on time.

Yes, we did purchase the annual support and we keep renovating our contract every year. It is a great option to have when running into issues or problems with accounting. The MIP team is very knowledgeable and very supportive. They have helped me create reports to satisfy the CPA auditors requests during audit time.
Yes - At the beginning of last year, there was a glitch in processing payroll where the MIP system was not creating the direct deposit report needed to be uploaded to the bank. I called MIP and I reported the issue, and I was told there was a glitch/bug due to the new years' updates. However, the MIP representative was very helpful and found a way for me to skip these steps and generate the report needed using other functions within the system.

Upgrading MIP Fund Accounting
Yes - Yes, the most recent tax tables update for 2024 went very smoothly with no glitches or any delays.
Last year, we experienced a few glitches on our system after the new version was installed, however, MIP Customer Service was very quick on helping us to take care of the issues we were having.
