Dassault Systemes
EnterpriseIQ is very well suited to a company in the plastics industry as the core software would not need to be modified.

Dassault Systemes
Very well suited for direct integration with CAD packages (Solidworks/ Auto desk Inventor or AutoCAD) and version control of CAD Model/Assemblies and Drawing files) and creating parts and document objects directly into Enovia and controlling their lifecycle from CAD Interface. Similarly, Enovia's Engineering central is already equipped with Industry standard ECR/ECO process which needs little customization for implementing Engineering Change management process. The hardest part in Enovia is controlling the disposition of released material for the downstream process in other ERP systems. For example, if a released material has gone for production or purchasing in ERP system/MRP system then dispositioning that material with Major revision (which may need manufacturing to stop the production due to faulty design) have no direct control to stop the downstream activities. Most cases its manual process to communicate with ERP team to for taking action. Similarly, revision of Documents (material Spec for example) linked to thousands of parts required special process (some time needs to schedule in the weekend).

Pros
Dassault Systemes
  • I like how they show the employee information
  • The auto reports are nice to be able to set up and not think about again
  • The GL display is average

Dassault Systemes
  • Every revision of a part or document is a separate object, hence unlike SAP status control of an object is easy. The lifecycle of each object can be controlled by its own policy.
  • It is easy to create new types of objects rather than pre-defined object types and control them by their own customized policy.
  • Efficient Security and access control model for design and supporting documents file checkout and check-in and easy reporting mechanisms for tracking business activity, like how many parts being created/revised/obsoleted and who has checked out how many times etc.
  • Generation of custom reports

Cons
Dassault Systemes
  • Accounting reports: accrued receipts reporting makes it difficult to reconcile.
  • Fixed assets: depreciation posts to the general ledger at the asset level, generating inordinately large numbers of relatively meaningless transactions.
  • Process cost: PIT display lacks many useful fields, including vendor name and number.
  • Financial reports carry beyond two decimal places.
  • Report structures are not sensibly arranged, and many reports imbed data within text fields, making manipulation and reporting more time-consuming.

Dassault Systemes
  • When a part/assembly has been released in Enovia and gone for production or downstream processing, Enovia doesn't have much control, hence, Enovia should come up with an easy controlling mechanism for various disposition of parts and seamless communication with an ERP or downstream process.
  • If a document is linked to thousands of materials then revising this document takes long time gets floated to the BOMs where the previous document versions are used. So, Enovia should have an efficient way to replace the floating process or another efficient mechanism for document revision processing.

Dassault Systemes
Given how invested we are it would be hard not to renew as don't want to go through another implementation.

Usability
Dassault Systemes
Because the modules that I use are not user friendly and seem to have several steps to complete a simple task.

Support Rating
Dassault Systemes
Very poor, try to call company support as a last resort as I know how much time it will take out of my day without getting a solution. It seems like the help desk does not have appropriate experience using the software. It would be nice of there was a separate support line to call for more experienced users of the software so we don't get someone just reading from the help file.

Implementation Rating
Dassault Systemes
It is nice that an IQMS employee helps you with the implementation, however they were more of a technical resource than a project management resource. I wish they could provide a more off the shelf timeline given their experience in implementing the system.

Alternatives Considered
Dassault Systemes
This is the only software that I have used so I am unable to rate it based on another type of software. My experience with IQ is extensive though, and have worked and learned in all areas and love how this program works. The many different modules are relatively easy to learn and they offer support if you need additional instruction.

Return on Investment
Dassault Systemes
  • Our implementation of warehouse management was probably the best investment our company has made recently. The control gained over our inventory is a tremendous asset and allows to see in an instant whether or not we can meet our customers' demands.
