Deltek Project Information Management vs. IBM Datacap

We liked the automation associated with filing e-mails. The ability to search within the body of documents within the platform was also a great feature and very powerful. Unfortunately, the program often hung up and didn't work and we were not aware that it was not functioning until several days went by. As far as the document management piece of the program, our staff found it very clumsy and burdensome. That resulted in them not using the system the way it was intended.

Once highly customized, IBM Datacap can suit any business unit and scenario. To realize accurate knowledge and insight base on business documents, I would emphasize use of IBM Datacap since it has robust OCR tool that ease document capturing.

• Machine learning automates document processing from external applications and sources like scanners.
• Exporting data with just a click to other content repositories.
• Redaction of data based on requester role. Therefore, we are able to block irrelevant or sensitive information based on the specification of users.

• It is not user friendly
• Cloud version is very unstable
• It is very expensive
• It does not integrate with Deltek Vision the way we were told it would

Generally they are very good and reactive to our requests. if we find an issue our error they are quick to add a fix to the next release if needs be.

When we purchased Deltek PIM we were told that it integrated well with Deltek Vision; however; once we implemented the program we found out that it was only a one-way flow of information. Also Deltek kept turning off various functionality within the program that would have allowed for better integration between the programs

It's easier to extract data from documents for analytics, unlike other similar platforms.

• No flexibility for payment terms
• We were tied to a 3 year term on a program that we hated

• Business procedures automation has been enhanced by IBM Datacap as part of the Cloud pak, which eases workflow and decision management.
• Being based on modern modular, IBM Datacap allows us to pay for what we use, thus no losses are encountered.
