We shifted from traditional document capture methods to IBM Datacap since it offers intelligent cognitive capture capabilities, which are robust and accurate. I don’t know if IBM Datacap is being utilized across the enterprise, but in Engineering department, we highly rely on it to automate processing of complex and unknown documents.

- It eases data capturing from multiple devices such as scanners, faxes and emails in all formats.
- AI-infused intelligent processing gives business users opportunities to capture complex and unknown documents from cloud and on-premise repositories.
- Exporting documents to other applications is just by a one-click.
Cons
- Even though IBM Datacap has enriched mobility and allows users to capture data with tablets and Smartphones, it tends to be slow and makes the devices to hang, mainly when using smartphones with outdated versions.
- Enriched mobility support: IBM Datacap allows business users to use Smartphones and Tablets to capture documents. However, they need to have latest versions in order to make it easy to capture documents.
- AI Intelligent capture: with availability of machine learning on IBM Datacap, it is easy and effective to capture, classify and extract data from complex and unstructured documents.
- Data redaction based on user roles:- In regard to requester specifications, IBM Datacap redacts data to make sure it doesn’t offer what the user don’t want; mainly sensitive business data.
- We have protected and safeguarded business information by redacting documents to ensure that confidential data doesn’t reach to irrelevant business users or cyber attackers.
- Business procedures automation has been enhanced by IBM Datacap as part of the Cloud pak, which eases workflow and decision management.
- Being based on modern modular, IBM Datacap allows us to pay for what we use, thus no losses are encountered.
Atlassian Confluence only stores and share documents in the cloud, whereas IBM Datacap has additional features that makes it effective to not only store and share documents, but also capture information via OCR and redact sensitive information.
