Design Pickle
Design Pickle is well suited for a small company that does not have an in house creative design team or employees that have design experience. It is an affordable solution to have a designer in your pocket for creative content as needed. It is also great for companies that may have a design team but they are overwhelmed with work and need support due to lack of resources.

Guru.com
Guru.com is great if you are a freelancer looking to connect with clients to get projects, but it is not for people looking for a steady flow of work or a more permanent employment situation. There is a learning curve before you can successfully get clients, but once you get the hang of it, it works nicely.

Alternatives Considered
Design Pickle
Design Pickle gave us a dedicated designer who took your requests and was able to really learn and understand our brand the way a Fiverr contractor was not always able to do. Design Pickle was more bang for our buck if we had a lot of projects to use them on, otherwise the monthly stipend amount was wasted. Canva gives a ton of flexibility to make the design exactly how I want it, but is a do it yourself program
