Devart ODBC Driver vs. SolarWinds Database Performance Monitor

It is appropriate in all scenarios. It is perfect to connect with the database. Actually, nothing to dislike in functionality and performance. It is stand-alone and doesn't need any additional application to be installed.

Computing resources consumed by the DB instance, DPA queries & wait time, deadlock conditions, virtual infrastructure resources. The addition of NPM & DPA integration as well as cross-correlation in the identification of issues with the network or server or DB is all stupid-proof. Monitoring is more than just health and resource consumption, it's also performance. DB performance analysis is key to maintaining healthy DB instances.

• Far less connection failures. We had a lot of failures with the tool that we were using before.
• High performance and new features are really useful. Direct mode connectivity seems to make the difference that was very much needed.
• Works very well with Oracle Database 10g.

• Simple to use and very easy to learn.
• The execution engines run in parallel, can execute any syntax or query.
• DPN can run all queries for both Oracle and SQL with no additional support.

I would say it is a very good tool from overall perspective compared to what I have used till now, still I will give it like 9 just for the sake of the interface and the integration which they should be doing soon with the main module which is SAM , NPM etc.

Devart Driver ODBC for MySQL is best with no known issues. It is stand-alone. It supports SSH/SSL communication. supports HTTP / HTTPS tunneling. It is available for a variety of operating systems like Windows, Mac, and Linux. It is available for 32-bit and 64-bit environments. It supports all renowned programming languages. it supports multiple languages. It allows various data types.

SolarWinds DPA gives you a very deep analysis and monitoring of the devices which these tools will not give you neither Datadog or ManageEngine. It even gives you job rate , db locks and all other parameters to monitor which we usually do manually by going in to the DB and not from the tools. It also creates a dashboard out of the same.

• Our organization has been largely moving into agile development life cycle and continuous integration is a key towards agile success. Automation is the first step towards continuous integration. We are really happy using Devart as a part of our automation engineering. It definitely contributes towards overall success.
• We are trying to extend the usage. The development team has also shown interest towards the usage.
• This is a cost effective tool. It is worth the price.

• What is the cost of a downed DB instance? That's your ROI. DPM lets you see issues before they become critical.
