Duda vs. Paddle

Duda is great for agencies. There is a good client management area. It's even good for small businesses. They can choose a template and build out their own site. It's easy to customizes a website from a barebones template. There are many customizations in the each widget. The pricing is good for all size businesses. There is no tech headache with updates and backups.

I wouldn't recommend them to anybody because their support is getting worse and worse and their business processes require you to contact support whether you want to or not. You will be forced to contact support and then wait for days to get any meaningful response that's not a copy/pasted sentence from FAQ.

• Builds beautiful, feature rich and easy to maintain cool websites
• Provides an efficient management platform for agencies
• Has a very good and responsive support team
• Is continually expanding features and new add-on partners

• Super easy to implement SDKs across supported platforms that support modern interface paradigms.
• Real team members that provide backend support for merchant issues. We had issues addressed quickly and taken seriously whenever we needed anything.
• Help with navigating VAT transparently. We never worried that we were messing up in this complicated area of international sales.
• Great first line customer support reduces the need for an extensive customer support organization on our end. They dealt with all purchase related issues as well as lightweight technical issues (e.g pointing users to FAQs, update links, etc.).

• Ecommerce can use some improvement--but this should be taken care of in 2023
• A more robust app marketplace
• More custom widgets

• Analytics could support more flexible analysis of reported data and better custom events.
• More customization of the drop in purchase UI on the web without the need for a full custom site integration.
• Sometimes communication from their front line support staff has gone to the wrong address.

Again, this platform has to be one of the easiest web development sites I have ever used in my life. From creating pages to linking buttons, hiding pages, and more, it makes it so much easier to develop websites for clients, including forms and custom membership login portals. It really is the best.

I can't speak to why my agency selected Duda, but I can say from personal experience that building a website in Duda is much easier, and backed by better support than any other website builder I've used. Duda allows me, as a web designer, to still create great looking and unique websites. I find that other platforms, while they may provide nice templates, make it very difficult to deviate from the guardrails they put in place. Through the years, even the most basic site that I've built in Duda is significantly better than those built in other platforms

We tried using Stripe before Paddle, but it was a pain integrating it and it lacked the licensing. Paddle allows us just to add a payment button and don’t ever think about payment methods, we don’t have to make a separate button for card payments and another one for PayPal. Paddle does all this in their checkout process.

• Much faster project turnaround
• Easy for non-tech staff to handle some of the work
• Costs are lower than we were paying for less capabilities before we switched to Duda

• We wanted to grow faster, which was possible once we integrate recurring payment gateway. And we've got Paddle to do that.
