Echobox Email vs. JangoMail

Echobox Email is great for news or article-based sites. It's the only platform we've used that allows editors to simply paste one link to include or override a story. The ability to automate fully or enable periodically is a time and money saver for us during holidays or employee vacations. The platform has been easy to learn and a great improvement over our workaround solutions in Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor. Besides the platform UI and optimizations for articles (which is worth switching for alone), the AI/ML built in to the platform has already started showing improvements to our open and click rates. The personalized send time is a game-changer and the personalized story selection is a promising feature– we look forward to seeing how it plays out over time.

JangoMail is only good for sending mass email and nothing more. While its interface is simple to use, it doesn't have a good amount of features attached to it. That probably explains why it's quite cheap compared to other mailing services. It's lacking features and additional functionalities. It's a cheap alternative mainly for sending mass email though, which is nice for a company that sells product to consumers like us.

• Reporting area has bare minimum and could use some UI improvements
• Timezone quirks can come up when editorial team is fully remote
• Google Analytics integration would be nice to have so that popularity of articles could be incorporated in algorithm
• Integrations with common form plugins would be great

• So far I haven't had any troubles, or problems with JangoMail. I'd love to just paste a WORD doc into the HTML window, but I am not going to risk having the links broken. So I preformat my copy with the long links and then insert them in the HTML window and make them look pretty.
• JangoMail's "add additional fields" in the into the body of the email is not very transparent, but when you add additional features and that depth of functionally then there is going to be a higher learning curve. I have not explored all of their tutorials.....and they have a great blog to explore also.
• This is not a big thing but maybe a clock could be installed to show that the email is being sent and that there is x amount of time until the "report" is ready to view. There is a no man's land time that as a user you are not sure if the mail got delivered or is being delivered.

It has helped increase traffic via social media, which was something crucial for us. This came without extra working time. On contrary, it saved us time.

It satisfied the basic purpose for which my company bought the license. No complaints there.

It does most of the work for you so there isn't much for the user to do. More advanced needs might need help from their support.

Echobox Email is specifically built for article-based newsletters and pre-selects content based on your criteria so the editorial team is not starting from scratch. Article-based emails can also be fully automated which was not possible in Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor before. Our web development team no longer needs to build custom solutions to integrate with the ESP and instead can focus on other projects.

I selected JangoMail because I wanted to try something new. Usually I find myself using YAMM which is Yet Another Mail Merge but using a new interface was refreshing and it was also very easy to learn and use. I would definitely use it again in the future and recommend to others

• Keep you in touch with the subscribers for Newsletters

• Sending mass mails so consumers can get an update on our newly released products
• Quite inexpensive so we don't have to break bank for this
• Lack of functionalities and features is a downside which caused more manual works
