ExpenseNet vs. UZIO

ExpenseNet is well suited to a large organization with many travelers or purchasing cards holders. It allows the entire expense reporting process to be done electronically. For employees who are not based on site or not based at the same site as their manager and accounting, it really streamlines the process compared to having paper or even e-mailed expense reports. The wholly electronic process also enables easier reporting and auditing. ExpenseNet would likely be less appropriate for small organizations with few travelers.

UZIO is one of the best HRIS systems I have used over my career. What sets them apart, in my opinion, is the ability to quickly fix or add things because they have actual engineers. Other HRIS systems are just duplicates of other systems that require a lengthy process to correct anything and are much more cumbersome. UZIO is use-friendly.

• Feature that allows an employee to take a picture of their receipt and then send it to their ExpenseNet account via e-mail.

• Overall the look and feel is dated and the navigation is clunky. Even employees who travel a lot will only go into the system once a month to do their expense report. A more user-friendly interface would take some of the chore out of it.
• The feature to take a picture of a receipt and then e-mail it to your ExpenseNet account is great, but it does not always work, which can be frustrating to redo
• It would be handy if just as the charges from the corporate card are imported, the statement could be as well. This would eliminate the need for the employee to go into their corporate card account to download and save the statement and then attach it in ExpenseNet.
• It is senseless that once you add a receipt to the queue, you cannot delete it until after you have submitted the given report. Sometimes, a duplicate receipt will be loaded or a receipt will be loaded in error. To have to work around it in the queue is rather annoying.

• We have a shift that crosses midnight and the system resets OT calculation when it becomes a new day, but in CA OT is calculated on hours worked and doesn’t split a shift at midnight for OT purposes. So far they have been unable to address this as it's not an issue in other states.
• Holiday Pay has been an issue because of our policy - too many changing variables to create a process. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust holiday pay on the employee's timesheet. That would be the simplest solution but so far that hasn't happened.
• Non-US Citizen beneficiary. This is not an option when electing benefits. Not a big deal unless you have employees with families abroad. We had one and we created a work around.
• Everything has to be downloaded. You cannot click on an employee's pay stub (for example) and view it within UZIO. It must be downloaded to your computer. Not a big deal - just takes more time and more files to delete on your computer.

To have payroll, HR functions, and scheduling all in one place has truly been a game changer. Even with us only having started using UZIO since February, it’s been so easy to pick up and go for management and our employees. I truly couldn’t recommend UZIO enough. 10 out of 10

UZIO has a much smoother/easier workflow for benefits setup and management. The system is extremely user friendly and the platform is clean and easy to read. UZIO listens to client feedback and uses that information to improve the system and make it work better for users.
