Toggl is easily the best time tracking tool we've used. We have tested any others for less than a week. We've been working with Toggl for about a year and see no need to test additional tools. It does what we need, the pricing is right and the flexibility is right.

Futuramo is best for when you're working alone on a project, or with a small team, given the glitches with the time tracker and the poor integration with Futuramo Tasks and Projects. Unless you're going to manually calculate the times spent on all tasks individually in order to know the total time spent on the project, I would not recommend using it on projects where you'd be billed per the time spent rather than a fixed amount.

    Toggl
I have been using Toggl for about seven years now, and I absolutely love it. It keeps me on track with the tasks I complete throughout the day. Tracking my time makes me more accountable for the work I produce and how much time my work takes. Having the breakdown of my tasks helps inform decisions on hiring support staff. I can see exactly where my time goes and then formulate a strategy to either bring in more help, delegate work, or re-prioritize. When coupled with other productivity apps (I particularly use ToDoist), you can unlock even more of Toggl's power. Toggl Track isn't so much a checklist tool--it's a time tracker; but when I integrate my to-do app with the time tracking, I can quickly and easily switch between tasks without disrupting workflow.

    Pros
    Futuramo | Modulus Sp. z o.o.
    • The biggest pro of Futurama Time tracker is that it comes bundled with other tools. These are "Projects, Tasks, Virtual Tickets, Time Tracker, and Icons." This means I can track the time spent on each task within a project.
    • Time Tracker is easy to use, all you need to do is go to time tracker, enter the task you want to track, choose what project and clients it's under, and then click the play/start icon.
    • For projects that involve collaborating with others (either external freelancers I'm managing, or my staff) I can track the time spent on each task by each user. So I know how long each person spent on their task and how it related to the estimated time. This way I know if the project will take longer or shorter than estimated.

    Toggl
    • Toggl integrates smoothly across multiple devices. I can seamlessly move from the field on my phone to the office on my computer and utilize Toggl the entire time.
    • It has great customization. Setting up multiple customers in a variety of ways is easy and quick to do. We haven't found something we needed that we couldn't set up.
    • The reporting is clean and informative. Reports can be generated for multiple criteria.

    Cons
    Futuramo | Modulus Sp. z o.o.
    • I'ver been using Futuramo for almost 2 years, primarily because they reached out to me to be one of the first users/testers. I've also shared some glitches that could be improved but the timer glitch is still there. When I start the timer to track a project, instead of the timer to start counting, it remains at 00:00 which is worrying because it makes me feel like it's not actually tracking what I'm working on. I was once 18 mins unto a task and when I checked the tracker it said 00:16 I was so worried I ended the task. Interestingly when I ended the task, it showed the correct time which was 18 minutes. I'm happy the timer was working but I'm also frustrated and in near-panic.
    • Like TopTracker, I wish there was a way to take screenshots of what I'm doing, that way I can be sure that the rest of the team is actually working on the timed tasks.
    • In the Time Tracker section of Futuramo, where the tasks timed are listed, I wish it was possible to actually click on any of the tasks there to see things like mouse clicks and keyboard taps. Similar to how Hubstaff and Upwork tracker tracks "productivity" (I'm not sure what this is called).
    • If you track a task not originally in Futuramo Task but created in Time Tracker, connected to a project or client, when you go to Futuramo Task, it won't be listed there. And when you to go Futuramo Projects, you still wouldn't see it there. I would like to go to Futuramo Project and see all the tasks there, both those timed and those yet to start.

    Toggl
    • I am genuinely trying to come up with room for improvement, but I am struggling
    • Toggl is seriously my favorite tool I use as a freelancer, and they offer so much functionality for free - that's why I always write reviews
    • Maybe they could make it a little easier to adjust time tracking mistakes (leaving the timer running too long) -- I have to do several clicks to fix it and I make this error frequently

Very easy to use, can enter projects and tasks on the fly, can use either a timer or enter hours later manually, the interface is simple and intuitive. Has a mobile app that is also easy to use.

I haven't needed much support from Toggl, as it's mostly come from a small team trying out the tool. I'm not entirely sure what the best way to reach them would be if I did need them. I'm also not sure how responsive they would be to support requests. But I think it's positive that I have not needed them

Hubstaff and TopTracker are still better at tracking tasks because of:
    1. Fewer glitches with the timer.
    2. Desktop app.
    3. Both take screenshots at random to which can be reassuring to clients.
    4. Both track keyboard taps and mouse clicks and show how "active" I am. This coupled with the screenshots can be reassuring for my clients.

One year ago I compared it to several tools, trying to use them in parallel. Now I don't remember the exact names of those tools, but Toggl was the best for its simplicity. It is easier to use, with fewer clicks and hence less destruction

    • Increased productivity: Futuramo Time Tracker makes it easy to know how long it'll actually take me to complete a task, and when put together, how long it'd take me to complete a project.
    • Track Billables: While calculating all the time spent on each task manually was exhausting, once that was done, I knew how long it took me and my team to complete a project and was able to bill my client for just that time.

    • My timetracking needs are simple, so this is a great tool for me. Start the timer, stop the timer as client work is performed, whether that is uninterrupted time or not.
    • It is very easy to review work time invested for each of my clients, making it easy for me to track my daily time and review monthly hours for preparing invoices.
    • Daily time is automatically aggregated.
    • Each time entry can be tagged with work activity, or projects can be segmented and time assigned to the segments with start and stop times.
