GoDaddy Bookkeeping vs. Sofon Proposal Organizer

Perfect for US market but not transferable to UK market, needs some upgrades for this. Even when set up with a UK address it won't allow changes in tax year end, presuming that tax year starts Jan - Dec. Also shows dollars instead of pounds even though figures were correct with solution.

In my opinion, the most valuable characteristic of SPO is that by answering simple questions a very complex product can be configured; therefore the scope of delivery is defined very well. In addition, SPO has great flexibility to manage prices and costs. However, SPO is configurator of parts that allows incorporating basic design rules for their selection. SPO is not a optimised for developing complicated engineering design rules.

• Invoicing and linking payments to them.
• Creating estimates for my clients.
• Making tax time easier with easy P and L statements and categorization of expenses.

• Drive sales representatives to their goal
• Clear final calculation

• More complex tax prep features
• Better filters for tax purposes
• More tools for tax returns

• SQL servers may lead to unexpect failures
• Tables created in SPO could have better interface with the user
• Management of user licences could be easier

Unfortunately I have no possibility to renew or not renew SPO so it is difficult to answer to this question

Loses marks on the tax year only being Jan - Dec and inability to change that to a UK format and choose your year end date.

I already use GoDaddy for a lot of my website clients so tried the bookkeeping out and really liked it! I tried a few others but nothing worth the price difference. I have tried a few other time trackers as I wish I could live track my time vs entering a little a time.

The previous product we used was developed by ourselves so my experience is very limited. I can say that having a software like SPO we can configure the product without any programming experience and this makes things faster and better. Moreover, I can say that MS Office compatibility is a strong point.

• Gives me the basic numbers I need for book keeping and taxes for a small business

• Reduce quotation time at the proposal office,
• better definition and more organise project scope at project management level
