IBM InfoSphere Information Server vs. TrustArc

Information Server is extremely useful to replace manual developments that require a lot of coding effort. It significantly increases the productivity of the initial development and the future maintenance of the processes since it has a visual development environment with self-documentation.

TrustArc is well suited for a small-to-medium sized digital organization that is concerned about its ability to fulfill data privacy requirements. TrustArc offers an API integration to allow users to handle a larger volume of requests, but I don't have personal experience with this feature. It is a requirement that a cross-functional data privacy team be established in your organization to get the most use out of this product.

• IIS best for ETL ,not ELT , and many and diffrent source systems.
• It also can process big data , unstuctured data
• It is not only DWH , you can use infosphere for analys and see the bigger architecture of your OLTP systems

• Easy-to-follow audit trail - each step of the process is clearly defined
• Integrated process flow - all communication back to data subject is handled through TrustArc

• I would be nice to have a new web development environment for DataStage.
• Connectivity Packs such as Pack for SAP Application are a little pricey.
• It is confusing for new developers the possibility of developing jobs using different execution engines such as Parallel or Server.

• Notification schemes - allowing different access levels to be notified when certain processes occur
• Two-factor authentication upon login is a desirable feature not implemented
• Standardized reporting on home dashboard

DataStage is more robust and stable than ODI The ability to perform complex transformations or implement business rules is much more developed in DS

OneTrust offers a similar product offering to TrustArc. Our organization had a legacy relationship with TrustArc with respect to its online cookie management preference solution. OneTrust product offerings do provide much of the same functionality as TrustArc and is worthy of consideration if you are evaluating vendors in this space.

• Productivity of the development of integration processes.
• Better documentation and governance.
• Reduce training costs of various technologies.

• Allow organization to be compliant with data privacy laws is a requirement in 2021
• Flexible offering allows for control of both digital (cookie) and database record requests
• Sunk cost - organization requires this type of program, TrustArc is an established vendor in this space
