iX Suite vs. MapInfo Pro vs. Salesforce Maps

MapInfo Pro is great for creating and editing spatial data and creating both simple and complex maps. I find it easy to locate tools now that the software has transitioned to a ribbon based toolbar. I also love that you can expand on functionality in MapInfo by adding third party tools as well.

This is best suited when there is territory management at the field or rep level. One can easily distribute the area/ locality, balance revenue, and optimize sales/outcome. However, this may be less appropriate for organizations that operate entirely on remote sales or for those where geographic location does not matter.

• The 3D capability in Datamine is a little outdated and hard to use
• The labelling can sometimes be a little hit and miss

• They just restructured their pricing model and we are ending our contract because of it - you have to pay for 10 users.
• The crossover with accounts and contacts are hard to map.
• The window sizes when navigating the maps are difficult to work with.

It aligns well with business needs. We clearly get productivity gain, and its seamless integration with Salesforce makes things easier. The ability to visualize things and performance geographically helps us to make better decisions. It also saves us lots of time and effort and increases efficiency.

MapInfo Pro customer support has always been quick and very helpful with any issues I have had with the software. They usually get back to you about your enquiry within 24 hours and they also tend to follow up to make sure your issue was resolved. I find it refreshing to be able to contact their experts quickly and easily.

Support was comical. It was barely available and the few times I did get help the language barrier was extraordinarily problematic

I find ArcGIS more comprehensive but with a more confusing interface; however this may be because I learned MapInfo first. Surfer and Global Mapper do more specific things better; but MapInfo is a good overall product for sophisticated GIS
