PTP selected the OpsRamp platform to replace its legacy IT Operations Management (ITOM) solution, and PTP has now been using the OpsRamp solution for eight years. • Time series analysis. The built-in vector operations are extremely fast. Also with the q language you can code up any customized analytical ideas quickly.
• The database are all file based, very easy to maintain.
• Very solid and fast interface to websocket, so you can interface with javascript easily.

OpsRamp has been there to support us. They were very helpful during migration and integration to our new ITSM platform.

Python is very commonly used for large data analysis and in general is much easier to pickup than kdb+. The biggest drawback of kdb+ is the learning curve.

Pricing is very economical. You pay for monitoring and alerting, but you get a full suite of tools for the same price for free (including, Patching, ITSM, CMDB, and change management) - Good package for cheaper.

Technical support is appreciable. We have dedicated customer relations managers to check and see the improvement of the tool and its flaws. Sometimes, we get to interact with CMO of the organization asking our feedback and suggestions. Not every organization does that.

• It perfectly solves most of our real time tick data needs.
• Finding good kdb resources is slightly difficult. Also new people trying to learn kdb experience a relatively longer learning curve.
