Marqeta vs. Spendesk

Great platform for FinTechs that want to build a global business in one place. Lots of control available to run a card program. If you want to do less work (just get cards for your customers with less customization and not worry about details) there are better options.

Spendesk's integration with Slack is super functional, as I receive requests to approve expenses daily. This way, we can act on time. This also works with pending approvals from other stakeholders. Also, keeping tracking of the POs thresholds is quite handy. On the other hand, sometimes I struggle when I want to access historical data quickly. It would be amazing to get a dashboard.

The support team has been excellent and very responsive. Whenever we had issues and reached out, we were able to resolve most problems within 24 hours. I think it really helps that they are still a new-ish startup and are very hands-on with their business and with support.

We evaluated a couple back in 2018 (GPS and Galileo), but I'm not sure that is relevant anymore.

Spendesk is fully dedicated to this field. While we are still using Airtable for other purposes, such as automation, Spendesk allows us to get a well-structured process for approvals and improve the communication between different teams

• Our entire card payments business runs on Marqeta and Marqeta's cost is a fraction of the revenue provided.
• Costs very reasonable at scale.
