TherapyNotes, headquartered in Horsham, PA, offers a practice management platform specifically for behavioral health and therapy providers.
I still think Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access is the best SASE/SSE product out there. It just has such good granular controls and up to date security definitions that you can feel absolutely secure in your purchase. GlobalProtect was a lifesaver for me when COVID hit so yes I had to work my butt off to get it up and running quickly and as secure as I possibly could but it worked amazing and had excellent performance after we got it running and tied to MFA, certificates and security policies.

TherapyNotes is ideal for any size practice with single or multiple providers/clinicians. Its scheduling, billing, EHR, and online portal are great for English speakers but not at all user-friendly to Spanish speakers. It is definitely affordable for a start-up practice and fees associated with merchant services are low compared to competitors.

Spanish documents are not available. There is not a way to use Spanish documents that can be filled out online like the English documents; instead, the practice must upload a PDF into the Library, share with client via portal and have then print, fill out manually, and upload for organization review and approval.
Sync feature from Client History Form is inconsistent. It may work with some clients but not with all. Sometimes the user has to completely log out and log back in in order to obtain partially parsed information to use in a treatment plan or psychotherapy note.

I still say that Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access is the best. I love their GUI, their policies are easy to manage, the sales team is VERY helpful (especially when support is not). I still recommend them to everyone I talk to.

The McAfee product really isn’t a great option. The configuration is a nightmare and requires a lot of time. The policy management has a high learning curve.

To some degree, I think you pick TherapyNotes or SimplePractice much the same way people choose Toyota over Honda - It's a style preference. There are definitely differences between the two, but they function the same in many ways. Other EHRs that I've used were for medical practices and hospitals. They weren't developed with behavioral health in mind, at least not in the initial development

Saves time specifically with entering notes which means I can spend more time seeing clients.
Does not have the ability to enter dual caregivers. Challenging for parents who are divorced and signatures are required from both parents. It is not effective to have two separate portals for the same child.
