ParishSOFT vs. TouchPoint CMS

The system fits extremely well with our non-profit requirements and provides us the capability to report to our congregation their payments to the Church. The system is set up for recurring events and not one time events. This would not fit a for profit business very well.

For our church size (1000 weekly attendees), Touchpoint has been a great option for us. We moved from a legacy server based system to Touchpoint which has brought a much needed transition to a web-based product with all its advantages. The various features that stand out in our use of Touchpoint includes: good child-care check-in process, the integration of volunteer background checks with third party vendors, increasing integration with accounting packages like Sage Intacct, strong contributions module with flexibility on selecting various providers for the front end, generally intuitive ease of use combined with good flexibility to tailor to our needs.

• Connects well with online merchant processors for ACH and Credit card gifts
• Integrates well with our accounting software (Sage Intacct)
• Retreat and event management that require fees is also very robust.

• The only thing I can suggest is frequency of memorized transactions, to allow for bimonthly billing. Right now, the system allows for 26 week cycle.

• The onboarding/training process was not as smooth as it could have been.
• As new features roll-out, sometimes the communication is not as clear as it could be.

We have been on ParishSoft for over ten years and it is interfaced with all of our critical systems. We know the system as well as our users. Changes in systems never go very well

Sometimes the support team is very busy and can take a while to get in contact with them. When we do, the individual is very knowledgeable about the system and they collaborate with us for solutions

Just like any system, while trying to explain your issue, it was difficult to be on the same page. ParishSoft was very patient through this process

Implementation was seamless. ParishSoft assisted us at the time of downloading our existing information from the system we were on and uploading the information into ParishSoft. We found no errors in the conversion.

As mentioned previously, this is a corporate wide installation, and meets the needs of our business.

We moved from Shelby to Touchpoint 5 years ago. Although Shelby has moved on to the web, it has been a more recent development after a 40 year history as a server based product. We wanted to go with a web-based option that started on the web.
