Wise, formerly TransferWise, from the company of the same name headquartered in London, provides international accounts and payment solutions for businesses. Wise helps businesses pay international invoices, vendors, and employees with the real exchange rate, in 80 countries, boasting cheaper rates than traditional banking options. It also helps to make faster, lower-cost payouts to all business customers, freelancers, employees, investors, and suppliers around the world.
I would say they are both similar platforms, however, TransferWise has cheaper transfer fees. I also like TransferWise's user interface better. I use both platforms for different purposes and I am happy with both platforms. Having two platforms give me more flexibility …
When I used TransferWise I needed to add my Payoneer banking info. Therefore, even though I used this I still needed to use Payoneer. TransferWise limits the countries that they send cards to. It would have been easier to use and it would have removed the need to use Payoneer …
Payoneer has outperformed them all, with speedier payments, a larger network, and international business accounts. We first tried a few different payment service providers before settling on this one, like PayPal, Payeer, and Skrill. But after all these years, Payoneer …
I chose Payoneer over the competition because of the low transaction fees and the ease of receiving money from customers anywhere in the world, and then being able to withdraw it without using intermediaries, directly to my bank account and into my local currency.
Through Payoneer's payment solution, it is easy to send funds to numerous countries across the globe. Payoneer will help pay people from more than 85 countries around the world. One of the things I love about Payoneer is the simplicity that they offer.
PayPal is accepted by country but I can only send out funds, no receiving. With Payoneer you can send and receive funds, it also has a free credit card that can be delivered to your door step.
Skrill has advantages over the others, such as quicker payments, superior customer service, and lower payment transfer fees. Before using this one, we tested PayPal, Payoneer, and TransferWise, among other payment service providers. However, after around three years of use, …
I use different payment systems depending on the goal. Skrill is good when my contractor prefers this way of payment. Also, Skrill is a preferred payment option in many online services, which makes it easy to use. Also, Skrill issues a real plastic Visa card you can use like …
I used all of them and some more like Skrill, Neteller. Wise just worked better for me in most cases. Also, I use Payoneer a lot. When I started freelancing I was only using Payoneer, so it's been with me forever. But Wise worked pretty well for me, at least better than Remitly.
TransferWise beats all the competition on transaction rates, and it's easy to use. I literally have found no drawbacks in using TransferWise to pay my overseas contractors, and they prefer it too. I found it because my contractor recommended it to me, and it's better AND …
Although the withdrawal is limited to the ACH US accounts, as they aren't real bank accounts, it's a convenient way to get paid fast from Stripe, although if there is a small fee or a chargeback as these are way in payments only, it becomes a nightmare to fix those problems. It does allow the bank accounts to be accepted with Stripe. For any kind of ACH payment to vendors, the service is way too limited, I wasn't able to pay anyone, unless I use the card to do it, as any regular card. In my experience, I think Import export, international trade transactions or high ticket items are impossible due to the small upper limits, for instance I can't use it to pay a vendor for a regular inventory of the latest iPhones(more than a million dollars for just a few items), nor to get paid by an overseas buyer(for instance my clients in Dubai), that buy these items on a daily basis, for these operations is just not suited.
Skrill is my preferred way of doing money transactions abroad typically when I need a safe secured and efficient way of sending money overseas and the amount is low. Most other portals tend to charge a transfer fee for lower amounts but Skrill does not charge a transaction fee when I use the ACH Transfer even for lower amounts. For personal use, I have used the debit card to fuel transactions and it allows you the same facility as the debit card. If I need to complete the transaction within a day and want the money to be available in the receiving account overseas the same day, I prefer another portal that has the option of express service that Skrill does not offer.
For a small business looking to expand internationally, transferwise offers lower admin fee and no hidden fee which is very important. It also remove the hassle and headache of setting up accounts with the local banks. Other than the low fees, the best part is we can use transferwise safely with a peace of mind as it is being regulated by the MAS. Lastly, any small business can set up their transferwise account within minutes which is very convenient
For large money transfers, the tax is a bit expensive so it would be nice if that was adjusted or if there was some economy of scale.
Ability to schedule recurring transfers could be useful.
Be able to transfer money by using a mobile phone number, like with Mobile Pay or Bizum, when the sender and receiver of the money are in different countries.
The support is really awful. They send you generic answers, and actually don't really understand what is going on. For example, when our re-verification was stuck, support agents told me that the account is active and you can send a payment. I did that, my card was charged, but the payment was declined, because the account was not active
Payoneer has outperformed them all, with speedier payments, a larger network, and international business accounts. We first tried a few different payment service providers before settling on this one, like PayPal, Payeer, and Skrill. But after all these years, Payoneer continues to provide us with the best services, features, and safety overall.
I use different payment systems depending on the goal. Skrill is good when my contractor prefers this way of payment. Also, Skrill is a preferred payment option in many online services, which makes it easy to use. Also, Skrill issues a real plastic Visa card you can use like any bank card.
We considered PayPal payment, ACH bank transfer, and simply mailing a check. TransferWise's fees were much lower than PayPal and our bank. Postage might have been less than TransferWise's fee, but payment could have taken more than a week rather than hours (or days in the case of a new payee).
I can quickly deposit my international multi-currency account without making an expensive wire transfer, with no border restriction as long as I have the mobile app with me.
Skrill is very convenient for each transfer amount up to EURO 2,500, and EURO 15,000/monthly.
Possibility of hiring freelancers for my company with immediate payments.
