SAP NetWeaver BPM vs. SAP NetWeaver Application Server vs. Tanzu tc Server

It is well suited when we need to integrate business processes with SAP ERP and SAP CRM - the solution can be integrated with business rules/procedures defined in SAP ERP/CRM and NetWeaver can be used to monitor the rules and flag off exceptions. When there are multiple workflows running, it tends to slow down running of these processes. Also, it entirely depends on SAP portal for it to run efficiently.

SAP NetWeaver is well suited for contract file storage and management. SAP NetWeaver is less appropriate for entering in time and attendance.

-Pivotal tc Server is best used as web application server on a virtual machine for middleware purposes -I feel it is less appropriate to be used with utilizing data that does not need to be secure

• Virtual paper trail. Iterations of process and current documentation are all stored as "artifacts", leaving a great trail.
• Configuration of users. BPM somewhat magically determines which users will be impacted and automates rules.
• A pro (that is also a con) is the design interface. If you know what you are doing, it is incredibly powerful and malleable.

• sometimes in linux OS we face several issues during start and stop. Sometimes Zombie process still exists after clean shutdown that time we need to manually kill those processes otherwise it might not start properly. Here SAP can improve.

• User management and administration access account setup has room for improvement and can be more user friendly and clearly list how many admin accounts we can setup
• password complexity for user accounts need to be updated
• although all logs list all errors some of the tomcat errors are not time stamped

As a big fan of SAP in general, the BPM solution fits right in with all the other things SAP does well, and does it with incredible efficiency

We have our own tech support for systems, I would say they probably could use more training on it, I don't really think it's anything regarding the SAP system, but more the knowledge they have on the system itself. It seems to take longer for them to fix any issues we may come across.

I did not give SAP NetWeaver a 10, only because getting access to it initially can be tricky and sometimes it's very slow to load up.

I found the initial setup of NetWeaver is much simpler than other products especially in an SAP environment where we have SAP ERP/HRM/CRM as it can be well integrated with other SAP products. The only drawback is the need/dependency on SAP Portal. It is better suited in an environment where SAP ERP is running.

Most of the other applications only provide one business module to use, whereas SAP Netweaver Application server can cover all business areas. It provides both ABAP & Java features, meaning it can host Portal applications and be also used for having online transactions. The application codes are easily modifiable & can be made to fit user needs. This application is suited for all type of business demands

We selected Pivotal tc Server opposed to Cent0s Linux because Pivotal tc Server is more reliable and causes less downtime , also better logging. I have used both

• Helped us harness integrated benefit from having SAP ERP/CRM by leveraging NetWeaver to define business processes/rules and monitor exceptions
• Did not have any negative experience except for the fact that at times when multiple rules run, it can be somewhat slow

• Great ROI. We need to invest in new developments, making it more functional for our business.
• We have requests that couldn't be duplicated. Maybe we need to pay to fix that.
• We have a lot of transactions and don't have anyone that can guide us to the ones that we need to improve our business.

• one positive is that we can securely send patient data across to our food service dept.
• another positive is that we can integrate the communication with our patient tv terminals
