Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my experience, AdRoll used to work fine, but they made an upgrade to their plans and everything stopped working. Now, they don't support other currencies than USD - so be careful to only subscribe to their service if you live in the US. I think the support is terrible, they will do anything to keep your money without them compromising on anything. My experience has been that basically, they will be always right, the customer is never right.

We use AdRoll to help us market our business. We are able to target people who have visited our website and send them banner ads through AdRoll. Advertising is getting more and more expensive, AdRoll helps us lower the cost of advertising through their banner ads, targeting abandon carts and visitors.

Likelihood to Recommend

AdRoll is good for any business that is currently advertising and needs something else to connect with customers outside of the traditional social media ads. If you are spending over $50,000 on ads, I recommend implementing AdRoll into your ad strategy. AdRoll is also great during the holiday season!

We are using AdRoll to retarget current customers and prospective customers that look like our current customers. We use the AdRoll platform for our company and sister companies. It offers us a chance to showcase products that we want to advertise, that align with our current campaigns, to customers. It also reaches out to new customers and showcases what our company sells.

  • The platform has a very transparent platform that provides great detail about analytics of the ads.
  • The platform shows what digital advertising mediums are working the best for your website, not just the ads that you run through them.

Cons

  • If you have a custom code on your website, it takes your webmaster a while to implement changes.
  • You need to host your products on the Google Merchant Center to help with abandoned cart ads and emails.
  • The only option for your budget is to do it by the daily spend.

Likelihood to Recommend

If your website is on BigCommerce or Shopify, it makes it a lot easier than if your site is coded with different languages and you need a Web Developer to implement code changes on your site.

Our company uses AdRoll to promote our products, new releases, and sales. We mostly use it to promote social and web advertisements across multiple platforms. Our marketing team is the primary user.

Pros

  • Numerous ad types to choose from
  • Syncs well with Shopify
  • Provides real-time data

Cons

  • Video ads I notice take a longer period of time to get pushed out than static ones

Likelihood to Recommend

We find that it is well suited for syncing our products directly through our site and pushing those out through dynamic ads across multiple social platforms. We find these types of ads work best for us, and they update in real-time. For example, if we have a sale the ads will change on their own to reflect the updated pricing.

For retargeting. Affordable retargeting on FB and Google and its partner. I joined the platform because I could upload an email list for CRM retargeting. I usually turn it on when my deals are in pipeline. Because I know my client would have visited the website and I want to reply to my emails. I might switch to their b2b counterpart.

The team likes the ease of use associated with the Adroll program. The visuals provided by the Adroll program help us share results easily with other departments.

A one-stop-shop for your advertising campaigns

We were originally using Adroll to create a one stop shop for most of our advertising and data analytics. It was primarily being used within the marketing department. Facebook and web ads are the primary services that we use within the platform. Adroll i at it's best when doing Facebook retargeting ads and web ad placement. Adroll has helped target more specific audiences. I think the data collection is unique and is extremely helpful. Using various features on AdRoll has also helped with attribution and tracking customer journeys. With a single campaign, I can see that someone saw my display ad, liked our Facebook post, got a dynamic ad on their phone, and then click on one of our Google Ads all before converting. This shows us that Adroll is transparent about their reporting and will not just claim credit for conversion if they did not help in converting. You can easily see the various touchpoints through which helps verify Adroll's aid or help throughout the journey. The insights are some of the most in-depth, yet easiest to read and analyze among a lot of different platforms I have used. The bulk uploading feature is one of my favorite features on the platform. It makes creating new ad campaigns quick and easy. instead of uploading my web ads, then my Facebook ads, and then my Instagram ads, I can upload everything all at once. Once everything is uploaded I can then scroll down and customize each ad all on the same screen. This feature has saved me hours of work and prep time when creating new campaigns.

Likelihood to Recommend

Adroll is perfect for companies and situations in which you are trying to retarget customers with specific products. Their platform is perfect for dynamic content on their web and social ads. Also, if you are running multiple campaigns at once then the Adroll platform is perfect when organizing many different campaigns at once.

If you are just running one or two social campaigns I feel it is easier to go directly to the source and you can probably leave Adroll out of the mix.

Ok, but not great. Better options available than AdRoll.

Utilizing AdRoll for display marketing and some website retargeting. It's currently being used by the marketing team and helps create campaigns across multiple channels instead of having to do it one by one. The ability to select your target audience and obtain reporting based on the campaigns is very useful and saves time.

  • Platform updates - These tend to not be very helpful and often makes the platform more difficult to use

Likelihood to Recommend

If you want to generate a lot of brand awareness and generate lots of traffic - this is for you. If you don't care who is looking, then this will be fine. If you want to generate quality traffic to your site - this isn't for you. There are other platforms that perform better when compared with AdRoll.
