Backtrace is a turn-key debugging platform that helps teams figure out the when, where, and why behind application errors. Backtrace captures detailed dumps of failed application state, automates analysis of the data and highlights important classifiers, and archives this in a database. It plugs into existing workflow tools like Slack, JIRA, PagerDuty. Now from Sauce Labs (acquired July, 2021), the vendor states the solution can improve time to detection and resolution, increase a development team’s efficiency, and take control of errors.

It features:

• Cross Platform Monitoring and Capture: C/C++, Electron, C#, Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, UE4, Unity, Xbox, Minidump, Coredump, Visual Studio.
• Query and Search : Search on a wide range of attributes to determine issue priority for resolution and reporting.
• Query, Sort, and Group by Attribute: Prioritize based on number of hosts or clients impacted, runtime data, or custom attributes.
• Debug on the Web: Web interface for debugging, no-hassle symbol management, and automated classifications to resolve faster.
• Integrate with Workflow: Incorporate debug data into an existing workflow for SCM, alerting, ticket tracking, messaging, and more to enable seamless error management.
• Retention Management: Dump files and metadata are managed on their own schedules, allowing for long term trend analysis.
• Flexible Deployments: Hosted in a multi-tenant or dedicated instance, or deploy on premises.
• PII Data Scrubbing: Scrub Personal Information from submitted dump file, including execution path, memory, environment variables, and register values.
