A great campaign management tool

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Buzzstream is a great tool for me in managing my campaigns. Over the years of using it, I've seen a huge improvement. What I like most is that they sometimes get their ideas for improvements from Client input or suggestions.
It's easy to use and integrate on emails, you may have issues when you switch the email and link it to a different Buzzstream account but I figured out that you just need to de-authorize it on your Google Account.
So far, the support is very helpful. They usually go back to you with a detailed list of instructions which is cool for me.
They also got training provided which is awesome for beginners.

Pros

  • Prospecting
  • Contact Hunting
  • Campaign Management
  • Success Link Tracking

Cons

  • Reporting is okay on Buzzstream but not when Exported to PDF

Likelihood to Recommend

I recommended this to my SEO off page Clients.

BuzzStream for Link Building Agency

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a content marketing agency with a focus on SEO and link building. We create assets that we then pitch to bloggers or journalists via email to get links. We use BuzzStream as our primary emailing software to send, organize and track all of our email outreach. With Siege Media being large, it is very important that we have software capable of tracking all of our work.

Pros

  • Integrates with Google Chrome, so there is one less tab you need to open.
  • Tracks opens and clicks for emails you've sent.

Cons

  • Once you've locked in a template, if you need to change it on previously scheduled drafts, you have to do it manually.
  • It would be nice if it showed you/highlighted low Domain Authority or spammy sites.

Likelihood to Recommend

We send out around 100 emails for each of our projects each week. With over 50 employees, that's thousands of emails that we send out and need to track not only opens, clicks, but ensure that we aren't emailing the same people over and over. That is where being able to track all of that info in a central place like Buzzstream is great. Usually, we'd use a Google Sheet that requires a lot of manually updating, but in Buzzstream, most of it is automatic. For a really small company, I could see Buzzstream not being as relevant because you probably don't need that amount of organization and can easily use a Google Sheet. But I remember when I made the switch how much easier it makes everything.

Great for linkbuilding and influencer outreach

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BuzzStream in the social and content department to find influencers to organically promote content and to see what influencers/thought leaders in a specific space are talking about. It helps us find these centers of influence for both outreach and production.

Pros

  • List building.
  • Outreach.
  • Project organization.

Cons

  • Great user interface and ease of use factor.
  • Easier to find the people you want (more filters).

Likelihood to Recommend

BuzzStream is great for finding influencers for specific products and list building for both organic and paid outreach. It's also good for building audiences and seeing what people are talking about.

Good For The Basics, Cost-Effective, but Clunky at Times

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BuzzStream very frequently, as it is our main tool for SEO outreach campaigns and link-building. It is used mainly by our Marketing department, and certain individuals in other departments. It is our solution to the time-consuming process of outreach, content featuring, syndication opportunities, and so forth. It addresses the problem of outreach bandwidth.

Pros

  • The email sequencing is awesome.
  • The email templates work very well.
  • Excellent contact organization and grouping.

Cons

  • The contact finder tool does not work well.
  • It is almost impossible to find verified email addresses using their email finder.
  • It is somewhat clunky at times and hard to load certain pages.

Likelihood to Recommend

BuzzStream is especially well-suited for the beginning to the intermediate user seeking to collect contact info, build email campaigns, and track those campaigns. This tool is fairly user-friendly and quite powerful for the price range. However, the tool is somewhat limited by its lack of functionality, particularly with the contact finder tool, which is mediocre, at best.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Buzzstream is used exclusively by marketing and, in particular, it is used 100% by me! A few years ago, I ran into BuzzStream in an article and realized it was the missing piece I had been looking for when it comes to link building and email campaigns. Using BuzzStream, I was able to create many email templates to aid in link building (AKA SEO) for our website and then utilize the software to aid the marketing team in long term outreach campaigns. It is a fantastic way to save websites that you want to contact, track email sends, opens of said emails, and create an automated follow-up. It is a huge time saver and makes everything smooth from tracking down websites to contact all the way through to connecting with those websites!

Pros

  • Email templates--easy to use! Copy and paste old emails, create a brand new one, add images if you want and save! In a few minutes, you can easily build out a solid email chain. Then with a one button press from their Chrome extension, you can send an email to a contact on the website.
  • The Chrome extension! It is perfect--you open it up, save the website, use it to search for contacts and email them as needed. Once you use this once, you will be hooked!
  • Link Monitoring. Using the Chrome extension you can log links earned on websites to your website. The software then scans the website occasionally to let you know if the links are still active. Saves hours of work and provides you easy reporting on your link building efforts!

Cons

  • Contact info! It is nice that BuzzStream provides a list of contacts you to email, but it is a pretty basic list. I personally use Hunter and import the contacts into BuzzStream
  • UI can be a bit clunky in the software. It feels like it could use a new coat of paint. Functional, but not great at this moment!
  • Project folders. They make sense, but I feel like it took me a while to really get used to them and understand how to use it.
  • If you are building outreach campaigns for multiple brands with different emails addresses, there is no built-in system to stop you from sending an email from a wrong email address. Adding a feature that allows you to set a primary email for projects would be nice (If it exists already--I hope someone will show me how to do this)!

Likelihood to Recommend

BuzzStream works for anyone that is working in the SEO field! It has literally saved me hours of time and is my go-to tool for all link building needs. The speed that I'm able to research a site, save the key information and launch a pre-crafted email is head spinning (In a good way)! This is one of the SEO tools that I can't live without--it makes link building and link tracking a whole lot easier. BuzzStream likely wouldn't be a good fit for anyone that isn't particularly working in the SEO field. I can't imagine this would replace a dedicated email tracking system or be used to send email drips.

Buzzstream: Good for Small Teams Doing Link-Building

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Currently BuzzStream is being used by our PR team and SEO team. It has really helped to streamline link-building efforts and keeping track of outreach/conversations. Both teams have visibility into initiatives going on so we do not duplicate efforts.

Pros

  • Communication Organization: It provides a simple communication format for even the most novice of users to understand. All messages are kept in nice order, even placed in folders if needed, to alleviate the pain of losing messages in normal email.
  • Locating Contact Information: I love that BuzzStream aids in finding additional contact information for people. From social accounts to other emails, we can make sure we reach out to people via the correct channels.
  • Building a Consistent Voice: BuzzStream allows you to save templates that have worked or failed when conducting outreach. These templates can have autofill parameters added to them and are accessible to all users.

Cons

  • Reporting could be better: I feel like the reporting templates and visuals are almost too high-level. I do like that it can break it down based on subject line performance and template performance, but I want to have more analysis into why the numbers are what they are.
  • Researching aspect can be off: While I love that it can find other forms of contact for my contacts, sometimes is can be off and give me emails for either an entire company or [emails that are] completely wrong all together.
  • Autofill/Personalization parameters don't work all the time: I've had a number of autofill parameters just not work when sending so the contact will see [FIRSTNAME] instead of their actual first name. This isn't all the time, but it does occur.

Likelihood to Recommend

This is [well-suited] for a smaller agency or a small team. I feel that our team (around 5 people) is the perfect size, as we are all on the same page regarding what everyone is working on. When there are more people and more projects/communications going out, it can become a little chaotic to use.

The Only Outreach Tool You Would Need

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage a content marketing team. Outreach is one of the primary things we do. BuzzStream helps us manage our relationships with influencers and contacts efficiently.

That means even if multiple people are working on reaching out and sending emails, there will be no duplicates, follow-up emails are sent on time, and email performance is evaluated accordingly.

Pros

  • Managing Emails.
  • Scheduling Emails.

Cons

  • Learning to use the tool takes time.
  • Filters can be confusing.
  • Contact discovery can be improved.

Likelihood to Recommend

BuzzStream is well suited for direct and personal email campaigns like reaching out to an influencer, contacting authors, promoting content, etc.

It is not an ideal solution for mass email marketing your list, clients or customers.

BuzzStream is a link building life saver

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

BuzzSteam was used by our entire agency to keep track of client and link building communications. The search engine optimization team used it the most to keep track of link building outreach and communications. It's very logical to use, and you can have different "profiles" for each client to keep things organized. There's also a feature you can set up to alert you when it's time to reach back out. Makes link building just a little easier.

Pros

  • Link Building - It's a fantastic tool to use for link building in SEO. Link building is traditionally a convoluted process and BuzzSteam makes it easy to keep track of your communications / successes.
  • Client / prospect outreach - Similar to link building, it's a great tool to use to keep track of outreach, whether it's for existing or prospective clients.

Cons

  • I wish BuzzSteam had a social media integration.
  • I wish it was clearer how to integrate your work email, including the calendar, with BuzzSteam to be that much more efficient.

Likelihood to Recommend

I largely used BuzzSteam for link building for a variety of clients. The best part was that you can easily import a list of targets in to BuzzStream, order, and tag them in terms of importance. BuzzStream also integrates a website's domain authority, which makes it easy to see which target to go after first. It's also a life saver when it comes to keeping link building organized and efficient.

Great for Influencer Outreach Management

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using BuzzStream to manage our linking building initiatives for each client. This allows us to know the progress we have made on building a 3rd party link for a site, keep notes and keep everyone organized, including the client.

Pros

  • The tool is extremely easy to use - self explanatory, you really don't need any kind of technical training.
  • They are always evolving and growing - adding new functionalities based on client requests such as the discovery tool which was a tool added in 2016 to help find influencers writing about a certain topic.
  • The BuzzMarker plugin is available to easily add a site of interest your list.

Cons

  • I don't like the the email finding tool which allows you to enter a person's name and company, and BuzzStream will create searches to help you find their email address - this has not been very successful for me

Likelihood to Recommend

It is extremely helpful if you are doing a lot of backlinking and business link building at your job and you want to stay organized and make your job easier but it is a bit expensive if you are not actively using it.

Buzzstream - Linkbuilding made EASY!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Buzzstream to reach out to website owners to market content. We either pitch existing content on our website that owners can link to or we propose a possible guest post spot on the website we are reaching out to. Buzzstream allows us to manage our prospects effectively and keep track of our conversations with them. It aids us in building a list of prospects and automates our communication with them.

Pros

  • Get access to data of prospects such as domain authority that can guide you on whether to pursue the website or not.
  • Create templates for outreach communication.
  • Automates your email communication with prospects through sequences.
  • Schedule outreach and email responses to maximize interaction with prospects.

Cons

  • The search function needs to be more accurate in returning results when searching for existing prospects the platform only display exact match results - www.websitename.com vs websitename.com. In reality, the two websites are the same prospects.
  • Customer service assistance needs to be more instantaneous when seeking out help a response can take up to 24 hours.
  • Importing large CSV files of websites takes time as well.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are working on a large list of prospects to reach out to, Buzzstream is perfect. However, if you only have a short list to work on Buzzstream, it may be too much for you.
