Overall Satisfaction with BuzzStream
Currently BuzzStream is being used by our PR team and SEO team. It has really helped to streamline link-building efforts and keeping track of outreach/conversations. Both teams have visibility into initiatives going on so we do not duplicate efforts.
Pros
- Communication Organization: It provides a simple communication format for even the most novice of users to understand. All messages are kept in nice order, even placed in folders if needed, to alleviate the pain of losing messages in normal email.
- Locating Contact Information: I love that BuzzStream aids in finding additional contact information for people. From social accounts to other emails, we can make sure we reach out to people via the correct channels.
- Building a Consistent Voice: BuzzStream allows you to save templates that have worked or failed when conducting outreach. These templates can have autofill parameters added to them and are accessible to all users.
Cons
- Reporting could be better: I feel like the reporting templates and visuals are almost too high-level. I do like that it can break it down based on subject line performance and template performance, but I want to have more analysis into why the numbers are what they are.
- Researching aspect can be off: While I love that it can find other forms of contact for my contacts, sometimes is can be off and give me emails for either an entire company or [emails that are] completely wrong all together.
- Autofill/Personalization parameters don't work all the time: I've had a number of autofill parameters just not work when sending so the contact will see [FIRSTNAME] instead of their actual first name. This isn't all the time, but it does occur.
- Positive: Enhanced communication organization and tracking responses.
- Positive: More avenues to contact people for the team to reach out on improving link-building efforts.
- Negative: True ROI hasn't been seen yet.
- Buzzsumo and Google Drive
Buzzsumo is strictly a 'research & brand-watch' based tool whereas BuzzStream helps me to be actionable. Google Drive is used primarily for the organizational aspect, but BuzzStream is like 1000x better as we can see when things are done and not depend on people to fill it out or update it within the Google Sheet.
