Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager) Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for all of our communication devices, Jabber, and all of our phone calls inside and outside of the hospital. So just inbound, outbound calling.

Pros

  • It allows us to get in and set up users. We can do certain dial plans, make everything specific to each user as they need it.

Cons

  • On the gateways, configuring them could be done a little simpler. When you upload into actual call manager, it's not as free. Building the tar file and then putting it inside of the actual server.

Return on Investment

  • It's allowed all of us within our whole organization, the Midwest and Southeast to come together on one phone system and everybody worked together with it.
