CLEAR1

What is CLEAR1?

CLEAR1 is CLEAR’s identity platform, built to help organizations maximize security and minimize friction wherever identity matters most. Drawing on more than 16 years of experience in highly regulated environments, CLEAR1 delivers identity assurance by analyzing hundreds of real-time signals across biometrics, government-issued IDs, devices, and authoritative data sources.

Why CLEAR1?

Stronger Security: Add a critical layer of defense with biometrics and security signals that help confirm users are who they claim to be, even if credentials or devices are compromised.
Flexible Deployment: CLEAR1 integrates into existing workflows using out-of-the-box integrations and multiple deployment options.
Built for Trust: CLEAR1 collects data directly from users, with explicit consent, to help businesses strengthen trust without taking on unnecessary sensitive data.

How it works

Biometric verification: Confirms liveness and matches a selfie to the ID photo
Document validation: Detects forged, altered, or counterfeit IDs
Source validation: Verifies identity details against trusted, authoritative, and issuing sources
Device security: Detects anomalies and suspicious device patterns

The vendor states that enterprises — including Medicare.gov, LinkedIn, T-Mobile, and Uber — already use CLEAR1 to protect high-stakes workflows such as onboarding, account recovery, and sensitive data access. They further state that their security program meets high standards for data protection and privacy, and is built to protect personal information and keep users in control. With tens of millions of users in CLEAR’s network who can verify instantly with a selfie, CLEAR1 aims to move beyond point-in-time checks to provide a reusable identity layer.
