Great overall construction management software for a great price.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Contractor Foreman is our central hub for Project, Employee, and Operations management for the entire company. One of the best things it does is handle project management and estimating in one place. It's nice to have a customer start as a lead, be 'escalated' up to a full project, and have a single spot where everything is tracked.

Pros

Project Management for Construction.
Estimation for construction work and CSV import of large datasets from estimation software like Handoff.
Employee time and location management.
Cost codes and financial breakdowns.

Cons

Timecards in rural areas are really difficult to handle. I know CF just released an offline timecard beta, which is a step in the right direction, but it would be nice to have offline data in the app and to have all timecards be offline until clockout, when they try to sync back to the server. The current beta doesn't work for us because it creates multiple timecards when the guys are in and out of signal.

Likelihood to Recommend

Project, estimate, employee, and customer management are the best items in Contractor Foreman. It's nice to be able to assign leads out and use the same card to convert a customer through the entire process. I really like the kanban method of managing projects, and Contractor Foreman is well-suited to that.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a custom integration and electrical contractor and use Contractor Foreman in our business daily. We absolutely love how flexible it is to be used as a subcontractor instead of just a general contractor. It has been amazing. Contractor Foreman continues daily to improve its ability and create more and more connections with other applications.

Improve one-to-one transfer of information to QuickBooks

Likelihood to Recommend

Contractor Foreman is well suited for most any construction trade, from general contractor right on down to any subcontractor, because of its flexibility and customization. It has so many ways that you can mold it to your construction type business. I don't know that it would be ideal for someone that is just in a retail type situation.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a mid-sized contractor and we use Contractor Foreman to track project spending and ensure our jobs stay on budget. It syncs seamlessly with QuickBooks and has a user-friendly interface. I have also made use of their handy webchat for miscellaneous questions. There is also an option to run reports which our project managers find extremely useful. This is only a few of the options we use, but as we expand I'm sure more and more of the tools will be utilized. Great product!

Cons

When entering multiple line items on an invoice, sometimes a line or two will disappear and require re-entry.
When adding an attachment, it usually appears as if you've added two attachments even when only one was added.
One of the tax options prevents CF from syncing with QB.

Likelihood to Recommend

Contractor Foreman should be used by mid to large-size businesses in order to be cost effective. The cost would outweigh the benefits for a smaller business.

It is very cost-efficient and very easy to use. It's user-friendly, and everything is very self-explanatory. The customer support chat on the platform is excellent and fast, and the estimate creation process is very simple, as is the project management aspect. All of my guys know how to do daily reports and all necessary tasks quickly and efficiently. At my office, the system we developed with the Contractor Foreman for invoicing is great, and it makes it easier for them to manage all data and important information on one platform.

I use Contractor Foreman for everything. As a small but scaling Commercial GC Company, we needed structure. We are growing from a husband-and-wife team into a boots-on-the-ground team with project managers for multiple projects and project sizes. The system allows me to schedule the boots where I need them, track financials, easily manage projects, perform progress/AIA billing, invoicing, and so much more. I run the entire business through Contractor Foreman and look forward to the new features rolling out.

Cons

In the CDB, I'd like to be able to create a line item with a specified percentage, and when I pull that line item into an estimate or proposal, I'd like the system to automatically calculate it based on that contract value. (Example, Contingency line is always going to be 15% of the contract value).
I'd like to be able to rearrange "blocks" on a page when I'm getting ready to send or print it. Lots of dead space on pages. Estimates 4 pages in total when it could be 2.
I'd like to be able to create budget summaries. Where the line items are grouped into their respective master format categories, and the category has the sum of all the line items in that category.

It's perfect for my company. The AIA billing is very important to us. All the features from the geo-fencing clock-in/out to the purchase order templates have been a huge help!

We've been using Contractor Foreman for a little over two years now for everything from Timecards to Project Management. It helps organize each project P&L.

Pros

The timecards are one of the most efficient uses on Contractor Foreman.
The customer support is a huge plus.
The ability to separate all the different details of each project.

Cons

Being a little more customizable on the PDF templates.
Changing the dollar and change amounts to include more decimal points to get more accurate numbers.
Allow for changing to the markups to add decimals.

I think Contractor Foreman works really well for the most part bu there is just a few tweaks I would make for more accurate numbers.

We utilize Contractor Foreman to run our national GC firm. From bidding jobs to coordination, HR Management to vendor compliance, this software is a one stop shop that keeps our business afloat. Coordinating projects across the country has been made much easier since we began using CF. The functionalities offered may seem overwhelming at first, but they have an amazing support team and the customization of the software is really what stood out for us. The training that they offer and their always available and very knowledgeable staff have really helped us to settle in. I’d highly recommend CF to anyone looking for a true nucleus for their contracting business.

We use Contractor Foreman for construction management, and it has been a very helpful platform for our workflow. One of the biggest advantages is how easy it is to enter purchase orders and create invoices. The system allows you to duplicate existing POs, saving a lot of time and preventing you from re-entering the same information repeatedly. This feature alone helps streamline the process and keeps everything organized and consistent. It’s very user-friendly and makes managing project costs and documentation much more efficient. At this point, we haven’t experienced any negatives. Overall, it has been a reliable and convenient tool for managing our construction-related tasks.

We are using Contractor Foremen for the basic of doing RFI, Submittals and keeping track of the contract values. We created the forum to allow access for our client & architect to monitor and respond to the RFI's & Submittals. We also use for the field to be able to upload their daily photos so that we could keep track of the day to day work. They also did their daily logs there as well.

It is great for a General Contractor to keep track of items for the office and the client. That is the field that i work in so that is how we used it for many of our projects. Some Owners require other platforms so we couldn't use on everyone of our projects. If you were a manufacturing company I'm not sure how it would work for you.

We made the switch to Contractor Foreman for 2 reasons- pricing and the capability to better manage projects. We are electrical contractors and we are slowly transitioning from the residential servicing field to be more commercial and project based.

Since we are still slightly residential based, something more residential servicing friendly would be great
Scheduling conflicts on the crew schedule - notifying scheduler that a specific crew/tech already has something scheduled for that day
Make marketing integrations more simplified

If you are a company that is project base, we definitely recommend to make the switch, and for the price, you can't beat it. We came from Service Titan where we were paying 5x as much as what we are paying now.
