Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The business problem Flexera ONE solves is single dashboard to view cloud costs/spend. This platform also allows notifications on usage and automation to clean out specific resources or target groups/departments via desired scheduling. For example, to locate unattached EC2 volumes in AWS and delete them automatically versus each individual logging into their accounts, locating the volumes, and deleting them manually.

Pros

  • Connecting our CSPs into one single dashboard to view spending across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI
  • Extensive notifications via emails to users or groups regarding resources that need to be reviewed in each CSP.
  • Automated cleanup of unutilized resources in AWS and Azure.

Cons

  • Onboarding had taken 3-6 months... too lengthy to get going.
  • Whitepapers / SOPs were generally incorrect or outdated.
  • Policies continuously errored out which caused incorrect data in reports.
  • Opening tickets and meantime to resolution was on average one week.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for single pane dashboard of all cloud spending breaking down to group, user, resource level. This allows ability to track down users who have abnormal usage.
What is required from the customer's end is extensive time and resources to set the platform up and curate to their desired specifications. You need at least two people dedicated to managing this platform.

From Spend to Mend Flexera ONE Makes Costs Bend

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Flexera ONE to strengthen our FinOps capability by automating cloud cost optimization, improving visibility, and enabling accountability across our cloud landscape. The platform addresses key challenges such as rising cloud spend, inefficient resource usage, and the complexity of managing commitments and spot-based workloads. Overall, Flexera ONE enables data‑driven decisions, and end‑to‑end financial and sustainability governance across our cloud environments.

Pros

  • Improved UI with a clean landing page
  • New KPI dashboard for quick insights
  • Embedded Power BI for advanced analytics
  • Flexera ONE Cloud License Management

Cons

  • Provide a single pane of glass across cost, optimization, commitments, and sustainability
  • Allow multi‑dimensional reporting (e.g., “show K8s spot optimization + RI coverage + carbon intensity in one view”)
  • Eliminate the need to manually stitch insights across systems

Likelihood to Recommend

Flexera ONE is well suited : Large Multi‑Cloud Cost Visibility & Analysis Flexera ONE excels when you need unified visibility into Azure & AWS spend, with rich dashboards such as Cost Trend Explorer, Tabular View, Azure Analyzer, and AWS Analyzer. These are frequently used in Shell’s FinOps workflows during training and demonstrations. scenarios where it is less appropriate: Currently, Flexera ONE uses separate modules (Ocean, Elastigroup, ProsperOps, GreenPixie, CCO).Switching between these modules creates fragmentation, especially for teams who expect a fully integrated UI and automation layer. It would be more effective if all modules were packaged as one integrated solution.
