Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Frame.io to review videos within our team before sending them through our formal approval process. Being able to have the whole team give feedback on a video without having to send emails back-and-forth provides a much more efficient experience.

Pros

  • Collaboration
  • Approvals
  • Feedback
  • Versioning

Cons

  • Being able to directly record voice memos as feedback would be a nice feature.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it’s great for moving a video project along through team approvals, then formal approvals. The feedback system streamlines the whole process. When we do social posts with photos, it’s not really needed, as those are really just a yes or no type of approval.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our creative team uses Frame.io to upload and review our projects. Frame.io is used to get feedback so we can make edits and get approval for when we can submit the final version to the client.

Pros

  • Great for markup and annotations so we can see where the changes need to be made even to the specific timecode on a video
  • Useful for messaging with coworkers or clients about the changes and edits and to give back and forth as to why certain decisions were made and see when a project is approved
  • Integrates with software like premiere so the notes can be transferred into a project

Cons

  • It can feel a little messy if there are multiple versions of a project
  • The free version has a lot of limitations. It is easy to exceed upload limits if you're not careful.
  • Clients have to make an account to be able to leave feedback.

Likelihood to Recommend

Compared to other software we have used, overall Frame.io has been invaluable in allowing for feedback, especially on timecoded videos. Being able to mark up a project file with requested changes is very helpful. The integration with other Adobe products makes it a great tool if you are already using the Adobe suite.

I use Frame.io for collecting creative feedback on my work from my boss. It allows me to quickly gather comments from him and to get the finished creative work off to the marketing team.

  • File and project organization
  • comment systems
  • It’s notification system is quick and takes me where I need to go.

Cons

  • Organization tools like colored folders
  • separation for projects
  • project links for use outside of Frame.io

It’s well suited for creative feedback where I need approval from my boss because he’s able to highlight exactly where his issues are and what needs to be changed about the piece.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The video team uses it to review in real time with in house and freelance creators.

Pros

  • It supports large file uoloads
  • Integrated well with Premiere Pro
  • Makes the review process more streamlined

Cons

  • Storage limits can be an issue and can lead to high cost
  • The UI is overwhelming at first
  • We've had issues with lag and upload failures

Likelihood to Recommend

We had a commercial with multiple cuts and color grades and it allowed frame accurate feedback, version stacking and annotations directly on the timeline. This removed confusion and saved time. Where it is less appropriate is small projects that don't need a large team to review. It's overkill and not worth the cost.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Video Editing for Creators and working with them to analyze their videos for retention strategies. We use Multiple editors that each do a different layer of the video editing, from rough cutters to animators. We found Frame to be optimal because it allows everyone to talk around the same subject and understand what needs to be done with more precision

Pros

  • Highlighting specific moments
  • Collaboration between multiple workers
  • Choosing what frames are needed to be edited

Cons

  • Being able to put other forms of media as suggestions
  • Would be nice to have AI integration of moments to possibly fix

Likelihood to Recommend

Frame is really good at being able to collaborate on a team of people that understand editing and how it should be done If you're not on a team and if you're talking to people that aren't familiar with Frame, there can be a little confusion of the app itself. A slideshow presentation mode with suggested edits that you uploaded may help when showcasing to clients
