simple an easy PaaS
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We are using IBM Cloud Databases to launch a new service. We chose a pay-as-you-go service because we needed a scalable platform. Our service will involve installing over 100 cameras and storing all video data in the system. If we were to build an on-premises environment, we would need to prepare a large-scale storage system from the start.Over the five years since our service began, we have accumulated over 100TB of video data, but by choosing IBM Cloud Databases, we have been able to operate a highly scalable system at a reasonable cost.
Pros
- scalable
- reasonable price
- suitable for agile developing
- reliable
Cons
- unexpected EOL
- not so easy to understand the design policy of the products
Likelihood to Recommend
For example, if you plan to store and reuse large amounts of data, such as video data, IBM Cloud Databases is the best choice. If data is frequently deleted or rewritten, you need to carefully assess its performance. You will receive a ton of emails with information about EOL and parameter changes, so you need to carefully read and check them.
