I use it to connect with Power Virtual Server because a lot of my clients need VPN IPsec connection and VPN for IBM Cloud Virtual Servers for VPC is easy to configure and deploy.

We need some insurance enrollment applications with nearly 4K users once in a year for around 3 months and we find it extremely useful to host the applications on the IBM Virtual Cloud Servers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

There are instances where there may be hidden corrupt issues in a users machine. With the virtual workaround we can help to identify the issue by isolating the item. This allows the user to continue working while doing the testing and review process.

Pros

The speed is very quick allowing the elimination of issues not associated with te problem
Mirroring the users work but not interrupting what needs to be done allows for better efficiencies.
The saving of the data quickly and efficiently allows the user and the tester to revisit the data for any updates or changes.

Cons

I would like to a side by side screen potential in order to view the progress.
A timer or update scale showing where we are in the review.
I am always on the front end of the assistance so a review of the update concerning the back end would be helpful for future use.

It is great for backend support when running into difficulties with data, processing rules, and updating commands. When these do not function properly a run on a virtual server can help identfy the issue quickly and hopefully apply a fix.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use IBM Cloud virtual servers for software development tasks, both during development and production. They are great for development time due to their fast spin up times and the isolation they can offer (so that they don't mess up production). They are also great in production because they are highly scalable and have great network performance.

The cost of running the Virtual Servers can seem demanding for some workplaces that may want to utilize the servers but can't afford to do so.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We originally was using the servers for hosting docker containers and several VDI’s with no complaints. The speed and setup was amazing and a breeze. It’s now got to the point where I now use IBM servers to host my personal projects with no problems. I was even able to setup a DNS Adblock using one of the servers and now have my (personal) network directing the queries through there first with more privacy.

The support works we enough where we found out that we can reduce our cost from switching from a different provider. In the long run, anything we can save matters, and once everything was optimized, we clearly saw the difference. Another thing I liked was the catalog, giving access to deploy packages to the different servers.
