Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use IBM NS1 Connect for external DNS and HTTP/HTTPS redirects. The ability to have a diverse secondary DNS server is also key. It has been a solid platform for us and we have not experienced any significate issues.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

IBM NS 1 Connect manages the DNS service used in the packaging industry to optimize application performance and improve network resilience. It also enhances the user interface. For me, the most valuable feature is geo-based server routing. I love this feature.

Pros

Makes for a fast website loading.
Enhanced the user interface.
Economical cost.
It is the best RUL.
DNS response time.
Routing the base location of the user.

Cons

Some aspects need to be optimized for performance.
All is well, I didn't feel too much lag.
A little bit can improve security.

Likelihood to Recommend

I like this too much; I love working with its data-driven tools. For me, the most valuable feature is geo-based server routing.

We are using it for improving user experience. It offers smart routing which helps sites to be reliable and performance got improved. In my organization use case it was huge traffic and it was very necessary for system to be responsive all the time.

Try if they can offer a monitoring tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my organization, IBM NS1 Connect is used in managing DNS for the applications within ServiceNow. Low latency and smarter traffic routing are one of its key features that impress me. It addresses the automation challenges that we come across when working with tools like SNOW and need reliable service delivery across all the environments.

Cons

Learning materials depicting flows that can help users who are completely new to networking
Pricing can be more transparent
I feel UI is a bit complex to adapt, especially for new users, it should be made more intuitive

It is very well suited for applications where the availability for applications are totally crucial and downtime affects business a big time. It also helps when traffic is to be routed across multiple regions. Where it might not be the best fit is probably small scale environments or teams that have very less networking experience as the they might face complexities because of the vast amount of features of IBM NS1 Connect.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for all our DNS needs. It helps create various geo-based filters to route users to the nearest servers using DNS resolution, which helps in faster response times. It also provides uptime monitoring of the IPs, which comes in handy and maintains the highest performance.

We use IBM NS1 Connect to manage our external DNS as out school. It works flawlessly. Easy to manage DNS records and review reports on how many hits our entries are getting. We also leverage the detailed reporting to see if there are entries that are orphaned or if something malicious might be happening.
