I provide enablement on IBM Power Virtual Server and as part of it use the product a lot

spin power VSIs
provide the same power stack as on prem
integrates well with other IBM cloud services

Cons

In my opinion, IBM Power Virtual Server has room for improvement because the UI is laggy
I thinks there is room for improvement with IBM Power Virtual Server because the network config is complex

Please remove the 24 hours timeout for the image exports
Provide, if possible, a way to move images from one workspace to another
Increase the limit of 10TB for images captures/exports to Cloud Object Storage

Cons

GUI restoration of millions of files from long term archiving to archiving tear. We backup data to cloud in object and storage and move it to then long term archiving
IBM PowerVs profile changes for HANA DB, we want to use non certified profile while PowerVS instance is used as cold DR only for replciaaiton and change it to certified profile once we spin up DR as produciton

I use IBM Power Virtual Server as it helps to manage my digital workload across multiple businesses and projects in the cloud and it is also great for application development and data encryption.

Pros

the servers are reliable and secure
the speed of the processors and data encryption performance is just outstanding

Cons

it doesn’t have a agile and interactive interface
the cost of licenses is really high
sometimes it freezes completely, when I have other programs running

If you deal with complex or heavy cloud workloads then I will recommend IBM Power Virtual Server to you, because I think any business needing strong security and scalability would benefit from it.

it simplifies digital management and protects data
the hardware is designed with the latest tech, and it’s incredibly reliable with almost no errors

the cost of licenses is really high
it takes a lot of space, after installation
it has a lot of manual work to do

We have some workloads that are hybrid in nature and IBM Power Virtual Servers help us in managing Linux workloads on it seamlessly without having to change our code. This has been a great game changer as otherwise we would have to change the whole architecture of our application which could mean a lot more cost and time on our side.

IBM Power Virtual Server is used in many ways in our organisation to address different use cases like disaster recovery and business continuity plan to make sure that we have a robust ecosystem in terms of business offering and every time end to end solution is available for lot of option basically for critical execution and workloads during different outages which may cause the business impact. It is also a kind of an hybrid approach where enables the Migration of load capacity distribution between on premises and cloud ecosystem offering higher flexibility it also have a certain use cases in specific to ERP system

It provides seamless integration between on premises and hybrid cloud
It offers disaster recovery solution which is a kind of a redundancy in the system itself
Ability to be cost effective and at the same time rapidly execution is really impactful in terms of scalability

Limited integration capability with legacy and both next and capabilities like AI
Complexity in which the process is being executed or tool is being manage or the overall ecosystem is being offered
