Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have used Huddle for many years and find it really fits our needs in terms of file sharing and project management prioritisation especially across remote working teams. I have never personally had any issues with Huddle that have required support from them as it is so intuitive. Incredibly easy to teach new colleague how to use the system and really like having all our documents in one place that really helps with corporate memory when people move within the organisation or externally.

Huddle is ideally suited to big teams that are not based in one location - remote and where staff turnover is particularly high. Not only does it keep and organise documents in one place but it also allows for priority labelling and access when working remotely - it has vastly improved our teams efficiency and our whole organisations corporate memory

Huddle has been good for client engagment and team work tracking, like how we're doing with clients and my co workers. It helps us know who's reaching out to who and making sure we're on top of things. We're able to discuss and approve things all through the same platform

Tasks and reminders are easy to see and complete
Very good platform for collaboration

Cons

Maybe more tips on how to use it fully there are a lot of features we haven't used yet
Also the starting we learned was easy
the Google drive has issues uploading sometimes you need to refresh a few times

If you are sharing private information like contracts for designs and designs that aren't meant to be shared only with one client, the platform is very secure

Huddle is used across my job for internal and external work. It has been a great resource as the "Edit and Lock" feature ensures that there are no version control issues. Additionally, you are able to upload/download new or old versions so no work is ever lost. The organization with folders can make things very organized and easy to find as well.

Huddle is great when there is a lot of collaboration and review of deliverables. It is much easier than accessing a hard drive or resource that requires a long mapping script to access. It asks you to log in every time you access it, so it is a very safe application. It has no limit on the number of folders you can create, amount of documents you can upload, amount of people you can add to the workspace, etc. I love it!

We are using this for a few things. The thing I like best about it is that it makes it really easy for us to share between our team with very good control over who can work with what items. That itself has saved us a decent bit of time since prior to this we were sharing files using other means and the back and forth could get very tedious. I also like that I have access to different versions of things we have worked on, really handy in case things go wrong and you want to revert back to an old state. In addition to that it keeps track of the work done by different people on a particular file and that is really good as it adds accountability to our process. And it is really easy to use as well. The interface is simple. It loads up really fast too. Really happy with it so far.

Sharing documents is super simple.

Cons

More pricing options would have been nicer.

It's perfect if you want to optimise communication in your team and cut down on back and forth emails. Also if you work with documents or files that are critical, this is really nice to have since you get access to multiple versions of your documents. Plus being able to see who has worked on different files is great for adding accountability to your team.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Huddle as a document collaboration tool across the entire company. We rely heavily on document versioning, locking and comments to for ad hoc document workflows.

Pros

When it works, the Huddle Desktop app is great - opening files from the web interface directly in desktop apps and having the file locked and unlocked automatically makes using document locking very easy for our staff.
Comment streams on documents are good as far as they go.
The iPhone app is very slick, and is liked by all.

Cons

The desktop app is occasionally unreliable and it is never easy to get to the bottom of it with the tech support people...
Tasks are virtually useless as they have no context. We want tasks to be against documents so we can make our workflow more formal but they are not, so we don't use them. A reimplementation of to do and calendar facilities with files/documents as the context would make a huge difference to us.
The Huddle Office plugins are a great idea, but they cause us far too many Word and Excel crashes so we have to turn them off.

Likelihood to Recommend

Huddle is a decent solution for low-mid volume document colaboration. Much quicker to interact with than Sharepoint, and well suited to a mobile workforce who are sporadically connected.

Huddle is being used by different divisions to streamline their work, collaborate, minimize email chains and approve documents electronically. The electronic approval feature is the most relevant and useful feature for most of the employees in our organization. Since the employees in our organization work on global teams, electronic approvals are quite practical (versus face-to-face/hard copy approvals).

Huddle allows users to use the native document file types. For example, Word files are still in a Word, not a "Huddle" file version.
Huddle workspaces are invitation-only. If someone should not be in the workspace, they will not be invited and provided access to the documents. Or, they can be removed from the workspace if needed.
Communication about documents is located with the documents in a discussion thread under the document preview. Thus, email inbox clutter can be limited.

Cons

The approval feature could use an automated workflow/process option. It could allow approvals to be automatically sent from one reviewer to the next in a sequence.
It would be great if Google Docs could be uploaded into Huddle. The version I use does not allow for this capability.
A feature to allow simultaneous editing would be useful. Locking files should be a feature that is retained, but the users should have the ability to choose which one they want to use.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you must simultaneously edit documents on a project, Huddle is not a good option. Also, if your team is not technically savvy, the learning curve can be challenging. Finally, if you need hundreds or thousands of people working on a project, Huddle might not be the right choice. I think it is better for teams under 100 people.
