I use ADManager Plus to more effectively and efficiently manage our AD environment, and share some of the tasks with our HR department. We all know the built-in Microsoft AD tools are rudimentary and severely lacking. ADManager takes AD management and puts it on steroids. everything you wish you could do, and think that you *should* be able to do, you can with ADManager plus.
Pros
Built-in Queries
Built-in Reports
Delegation of tasks with enforces roles
Searching and viewing AD Objects quickly
Likelihood to Recommend
Any environment that runs on AD needs ADManager Plus. They have already built-in 95% of the queries and reports you will need. It provides a great window into your AD environment. The interface is very intuitive and for any reports or queries that aren't already packaged the product makes them easy to build.

I am still learning the software but the user and computer reports are helpful. I am looking to utilize the Goup and OU reports along with the GPO reports. There is an application what requires user accounts to be uploaded weekly. This has been a huge time saver to enable us to automate the process.
Pros
users reports
computer reports
group reports
Cons
I would like to be notified of any training available
We are using ManageEngine AD Manager Plus to automate the AD related tasks and to generate reported related to the Active Directory. We are creating users in just a few click rather than following a lot of steps in active directory and without log in to the active directory server. With this tool, we are modifying user properties in very simple steps. With this tool, you can generate different type of password reports, user reports and different account reports. You can set up notification for password expiry and this tool will send automatic email before the password expire. With this tool, we can see the enabled and disabled accounts, steal accounts and accounts that has been disabled in organization but we can still see their account information here. We can manage groups and mailbox as well in this tool. So, basically it is saving our lot of time and resources and making life easy for admin team.
Pros
It is very good in the bulk user creation. With this tool, we can create a number of users in just a few minutes rather than following a long old process.
It is good for bulk user account modification. You can select a lot of users and make changes as per the requirements.
ManageEngine ADManager Plus is helping us a lot in the report generation of user accounts, passwords, groups, and other reports that are helping us a lot.
This tool also helps us with mailbox creation and shared mailbox creation
Cons
They need to improve their report in terms of modification, like you will not get a lot of customization options in the report.
In the password report if you are applying filter in Days since password last set and selecting the password change date from day 0 and again you want to select the Account status as Enable then you cannot do this.
If you have more than 1 domain and you are trying to modify users in both domains in a single attempt, you cannot do this.
Likelihood to Recommend
ManageEngine ADManager Plus is doing good in lot of areas and making things easy for admins that take care of Ad related works. It is helping us to create users in bulk rather than following one by one step in active directory. Apart from the user creation, we can modify users in bulk without going to one by one in their profile. We can manage user account from here like account update, some modification, password related issues, and mailbox update. This tool is good but it has some drawbacks like we have 2 domains in our company but we cannot edit or modify users for both domains in a single attempt. We cannot change in password settings for both domains in single selection.

I have given HR access to this product to stream line our user provisioning process. We created user templates that automatically add users to respective groups.
I also use this product extensively in my department to run reports for computers that haven't logged in for a certain period of time, determine which user accounts can be deactivated, etc.
Pros
Develops user interface
Support/feature request
Runs on prem, updates are easy to apply
Cons
I'd prefer perpetual pricing
It could be easier to create new user templates
Likelihood to Recommend
We mostly use this for user provisioning, it was easy to give HR access to the application while not opening up active directory. It's user interface simplifies the process.
We are a school district with over 6,000 students, it's easy to create a CSV file and mass update all students simultaneously.
I don't think this product would be useful for smaller organizations, you could simply run a powershell script to pull data from your domain controller.

To begin with, we needed a product that would import a CSV file into Active Directory to update our users information. This has done this for us without an issue for 4+ years.
Additionally, realizing the product does much more than that, we have leveraged it for user reports, computer reports, etc. This has helped with every day tasks and keeping AD updated and clean.
Pros
AD Integration
Use of the product is easy and GUI friendly
Support is helpful and always available
Cons
UI layout, better graphs & options
Being able to update within the app and not having to go through so many steps.
While licensing isn't expensive, would like to see better packages.
Likelihood to Recommend
Less suited: NOn-AD environments.
Suited: AD environments. Orgs that require a tool to help manage AD with not just reports but also being able to manage users within a Friendly UI.
Our organization was having a problem with our various technicians in the creation of new users. Account names were misspelled, incorrect OU assignment and missed group membership to name a few. We purchased ADManager Plus to help us streamline this process and reduce the human error factor. I am happy to say that this application worked perfectly and helped my company immensely (my headaches too).
Pros
Easy to use
Easy to install
Helpful support team
Nice reporting features
Worth the cost
Cons
The standard version is useless for a larger company. Most have the Professional level to get the most out of the application but it is worth the cost.
Needs better integration with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Likelihood to Recommend
ADManager is perfectly suited for reducing the human error in account creation. The templates I needed to create for this were easy and I was done within a couple of days. I am happy to sign that account creation errors has been near zero since the roll out of this application. I look forward to using more of its functionality
ADManager Plus is being used to audit our Active Directory and helps to manage it. This is a great tool to keep users from logging into domain controllers but still allows them to make AD changes. It also provides good scheduled reports to assist with auditing your AD environment.
Pros
Creates user account by template
Streamlines new hire and termination processes
Helps generate report logs to assist with AD cleanup
Cons
Software support is rather lacking
Office 365 configuration tends to be isolated to a single user.
Likelihood to Recommend
ADManager Plus is a great tool if you are doing a lot of changes in Active Directory. This tool gives you the ability to create templates for creating user accounts. With this feature, you can streamline the user onboarding process. If you are not having to make constant changes to AD this may not be the best tool for you.

ADManager Plus is being used across multiple teams in IT. We are also using it to run some automations to upkeep distribution lists. It is a very powerful reporting tool for Active Directory and also for bulk creations or modifications needed to be made in your environment. If you have a team managing AD that isn't great with PowerShell, ADManager can help fill that gap!
Pros
Running reports.
Making bulk modifications to your AD environment.
Cons
Reports can be hard to get what you need...sometimes they include fields that you don't need.
The automation feature broke after an update and our complex automations stopped working.
Likelihood to Recommend
ADManager is great for assisting your Active Directory support team with reports, bulk creation or modifications, and simple automations. It takes the PowerShell coding out of managing Active Directory and allows your team to build some automated tasks without needing to code. If you want to write complex automations it doesn't work very well. It is also a great tool to grant other IT teams access to manage a subset of AD groups, users, or even attributes.
We start using ADManager a few years ago and it is a great tool and adds great value to a Microsoft Active Directory domain. This product helps us tremendously for bulk creating and bulk de-provisioning users. Love the user interface, very easy to find what you need without the need of command line tool.
We use the product daily for AD management and housekeeping. We create single users, de-provisioning use, reports on user groups, mass deployment and other bulk operations such as disabling users or move them to specific OU. The bulk tool can have templates so if you disable user they automatically clear all the group membership. You can create templates for user creation as well. This tool also works with Google and Office365.
Pros
Bulk user creating/de-provisioning user, all bulk operations
Reporting on many items, group membership, password expiration, etc.
Works well with active directory and Google integration.
Easy to use interface.
Mobile app.
Cons
A way to copy creating a rule from the same page as you create new rules.

We have been using the product for almost 3 years. We are a large-sized school district. This product works well for us for daily operation and end of year housekeeping. As with many school districts, we struggle with help and this tool can help. Once you set this up you can have anyone create a user using the templates and they do not need any active directory knowledge, just click and create. If you are a smaller school or business with dedicated Active Directory person, you may not need it.
