What is Melissa Address Verification?

Melissa Address Validation verifies, corrects, standardizes, and enriches physical-address data for organizations that manage customer, location, or delivery records. It supports real-time validation at data entry and batch processing for existing datasets.

The service validates addresses across more than 250 countries and territories, applying local postal formats and supporting transliteration between native scripts and Latin characters. It uses postal reference data including CASS for the United States, SERP for Canada, and PAF for the United Kingdom.

In addition to address correction, Melissa provides forward and reverse geocoding for mapping and location-based workflows. Address autocomplete reduces entry errors, while integrations support cloud and on-premises deployments as well as business applications, spreadsheets, ecommerce platforms, GIS tools, and payment systems.

Address-intelligence features identify residential versus business delivery locations, add known apartment information to residential records, incorporate U.S. addresses outside USPS data, and assign persistent MAK identifiers so organizations can track address changes over time.
