Millie and Sentinel Group

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are in our sixth year using the Millie platform at Sentinel Group. Millie supports our Sentinel Cares and employee engagement efforts. Initially, we looked at Millie as a volunteer management and matching gift solution but we've been able to grow and develop campaign, advocacy and education tools. The Millie team have been wonderful partners and they have always been open to feedback along the way.

Pros

  • Volunteer Management
  • Matching Gift Management
  • Advocacy and Fundraising Campaigns
  • Analytics and Reporting
  • Employee training tools and recordings

Cons

  • Support for 3rd party fundraising efforts beyond offline giving (direct to fundraiser's account)
  • Continued growth of campaign options (much improved!)

Return on Investment

  • Employee volunteerism hit 90% within the first two years
  • Our employees use their match benefits at more than three times the national average for companies our size
  • The Millie Madness bracket has yielded high (40%) participation in addition to allowing employees to advocate for nonprofit clients.
  • Millie has allowed us to take analytics out of spreadsheets and created an ongoing "annual" record for review.

Millie Great Value and Features

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Millie for setting up company volunteer events, fundraisers, and various internal giving campaigns.

Pros

  • The team is very responsive and is great at engaging with us when we have an issue, or bringing new ideas to the table
  • The platform is easy to use and manage as an administrator, I haven't had any issues with it yet.
  • The Millie team is also putting out new updates, continuously improving the platform. They also care about the feedback from customers, and often ask us for input when they're deciding on new features.

Cons

  • I think it takes roughly 3 weeks to a month for donations made through Millie to be delivered to nonprofits. My main feedback is it would be great to make that process shorter.

Return on Investment

  • Its really helpful to see how many people are volunteering on the platform and how many hours they have volunteered.
  • Seeing the amount people have donated themselves is really great too.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company uses Millie to manage employee volunteering and donation matching programs.

Pros

  • very intuitive interface, easy for employees to use with minimal training.
  • Analytics. We now have clear data about our engagement initiatives. This helps us determine what causes and types of support are most meaningful to our employees.
  • Customer support. The team at Millie is great and so responsive. It feels like we are co-creating meaningful engagement opportunities.

Cons

  • Mobile device integration. Many of our employees do not sit behind a desk, so we really would love an app they can use on their phones.

Return on Investment

  • Increased efficiency. Less time tracking donations and volunteering has eased the admin burden for our team.
